yh i did notice this. When toya was "alive", endeavour was happy and everything. its just after he died he kinda became messed up.

@@Roronoa_54 no, endeavor was not happy when touya was alive. he was already abusing the whole family before touya died, rei was driven into the corner and burned shouto before touya died. he didn't become messed up after touya died; he always was.

@@toya2368 i think he was talking about when toya was still a kid and when fuyumi was born. endeavor said he didn't mind if the two of them just became heroes and supported each other (fire and ice). i think it started going downhill when they found out toya's quirk was burning him. endeavor became more obsessed, because at that point he had no fire quirk child (toya's fire is useless, natsu & fuyumi have ice).

Beforehand, Shoto was called the “hero of the family,” and after this, yeah, he absolutely is. Not that he wasn’t before. And honestly, for as horrific of a person as Touya has become, I think it’s only right for him to be saved by the family and make sure he doesn’t game end himself. It was great timing too since Endeavor had just given up on Touya again. The emotions were complicated as heck this time around, but I’m hoping that Touya can finally find some level of peace…

The animator of most of the scenes in this episode is Yutaka Nakamura, he has done alot of work on previous MHA episodes. Like Midoriya vs Overhaul, Iida vs Mudman, Midoriya vs Todoroki, Midoriya vs Bakugo, and the Mha movies 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and a ton of other stuff.

9:29 Rei Todoroki is DONE running away. 8:33 Full transparency, there was a WHOLE scene from a prison where Geten from S5 and 6 was being held. And it turns out that Geten is actually Related to Rei’s Family (Hence why he has white hair and an Ice quirk) and the reason why he has one despite being a VERY distanced relative is because ice quirks tend to manifest WAY later in a person who’s a distant relative in Rei’s Bloodline. Thus Explaining why Toya’s Ice quirk is only manifesting NOW. I have no Freaking idea why they cut this scene out, considering it had ALOT of vital information!!! This also means that Toya was the Perfect Son ALL ALONG!!!

Yeah it also reveals that rie's family were the ones who arranged the marriage, they were once very powerful, where they had anyone in their pockets and could destroy anyone easily. But the age of quirks ruined them, so they began to sell their children in quirk marriages to regain their power, but ti was futile, they never got even a fraction of it back.

I’m a father and I know I am nothing like Endeavour so it’s crazy but still whenever I lose my temper or raise my voice to my daughter I flash to this storyline. The whole Todoroki family arc is just sooooo perfectly written!! Believe it or not I’m even more invested in what happens in the next episode though ;)

I think my favourite episode of all time, just beautiful full circle of their storyline from Todoroki’s disdain for his dad to endeavour wanting to reunite with his family, to the family coming together for Toya. So tragic but an ending which was deserved for them all

Brian, Stephanie, I am a 66 year old otaku, and I cried like a baby for the Todoroki family. Ain't no shame either. What a well written episode! The voice acting (endeavor in particular) sold the moment, and the animation was on point. How can you NOT feel for that family in that moment?
