When son was in scouts long, long time ago. Now 12 yr old grandson is. Anyway, live in rural area & his troop leader loved camping in woods, but at the BS camps, would have clean up days. I would help & made sure to get every tiny piece of paper the boys would miss. Can't stand trash, gum wrappers, butts, being thrown out. No cars on the island. you brought back nice memories. Beautiful island and bridge. Want to go back. By the way, I think it was in the 80s in colder weather and the wind was blowing on that bridge - a young girl was driving across the bridge in a Yugo car and the car blew right off the bridge in the freeeeezzzing lake!! That was cool. Smart man for not standing directly under it when the train came over. Imagine a wheel or something flying off. This reminds me of the time that my young wife and I 30 years ago, parked next to the river in the Pittsburgh area to go fishing and we were next to the train tracks and it was all like 3 inch 4 inch slag all over and it was fairly popular place to park and walk down the path to the river to fish But it was on top of the hill and the river was loud and it was a little bit of a walk to get to the fishing spot. Well, when we got back up the hill to the car, someone had thrown thousands of rocks , probably kids ,at the car and busted every window every lens and it probably had thousands of dents in the car it was totaled. I was so pissed off. I ended up driving home and parking it in the field and eventually sold it for scrap. My wife is so upset that was her first little car and she loved it so much. …she worked so bard for that car. It was a mercury zephyr with in-line six and it ran like a champ.

That's one high bridge, there's no way I could drive a train over it, ride on a train over it.... nope, nope, nope, I was born in 63, I'm 61. I hope they are maintaining it well. Thank you for letting us check that out with you. Be careful when you're out by yourself like that. I was glad to hear you say you had your gun with you. Love your channel, God bless you and your family ❤

That's awesome! I worked on the tower at Roanoke Cement, which is 516 feet tall. Most of the time the elevator didn't work, so we had to carry tools up the stairs. As for the trash, I despise trash on the ground. People fish the creeks in my area, and throw everything on the ground. Yesterday there was a pile from Popeyes Chicken on the ground. The nearest Popeyes is 45 minutes away. If I dropped my trash on these city slickers yards they'd have a stroke.

I noticed the Chemtrails. Yeah, a drone would be very cool.

WOW 😳... Scary... Used to ride Coal Trains 🚂 across several high bridges in KY, WVa and VA regularly back in the 1990s... NEVER once crossed a high bridge that didn't make my nerves stand on end 😳.. Hate to see all that trash 🗑️ and drug waste laying around 😢. Some badddd areas up here in Eastern KY Brother 😢 Stay safe out there! Thanks for Sharing

Look for WPA on bridge pillars. That was the work party paid back in depression. 1940's or so.

Bridge is important so that people can fill their storage units with junk from China carried by these trains with those big shipping containers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you put this and the scenic overlook one over on The View From Appalachia? Maybe I'm just having deja vu... I'm not complaining cuz it's cool and interesting and a nice break from all the hulabaloo, I just want to make sure I'm not going cuckoobananas *insert nervous laughter here*
