This is how AI Dungeon always should have worked...

cool concept, AI dungeon used to have a future kind of similar to this in its early days, that being the suggested actions. it was basically a button that allowed you to choose three AI generated actions in case you couldn't think of something to do. It was a very useful feature an made AI dungeon WAY more accessible, Unfortunately the developers removed it. No one has really talked about it since.

That does seem like it would make it way more accessible! If I had to bet, I'd say it made it so people spam actions too fast, and it made hosting costs too expensive. Thanks for the history, I'm still new to the scene.

While at fist glance I disagree with A.I. Dungeon being your standard pick and choose game Instead of what it is now. But I must admit, turning your brain off and just choosing a desired option can be equally as fun too.

Yeah, TBH the coolest thing about AI Dungeon is that it has the potential to be both.

I super agree! I'm thinking of setting up a scenario of options so there is a bunch of scenarios to choose from with this "gamemode".

This is a really neat concept! I had another idea of how AI Dungeon which is basically dnd where the AI let's you roll a dice and depending on the number you get your action will be more successful the higher the number is

That was actually a option for subscribers for quite awhile and why I decided to pay for a subscription back when AIDungeon was still good it even had it's own level up and stat system so the more successful roles you do for the Do or Say actions the higher the chances of getting a successful role for that particular stat it was also really good at recognising which stats make sense for that action unfortunately though for some reason they completely removed it and it hasn't been a option since.... :(

@@chasebrace7575 Yeah I was so disappointed when they removed the setting.... If I remember right their excuse was they needed to remove it so they can get it ready for the public release, several years later they still haven't added it back.... Which is a shame because it was perfect for every scenario not just fantasy.... :(

Trying this in Gryphon-Beta, and it just completely ignores my inputs. It asked me if I want to go to Location A, B, or C. I selected A and the AI sent me to B. It then asked me if I want to investigate the house to the Left, Right, or Middle. I selected the middle house and then the game said "The house to the right of you is empty." It then proceeded to start asking me nonsensical questions like "Who's sitting at the table" and "Which room is the table in" It wasn't long before the only multiple choice questions I was getting were "X person is doing something. Who are they: Mr Green, Mrs. Green. Mr Green's Son, etc" and the answers I gave made no difference to the scene. Edit: I found that I can change the questions, and the AI will generate new options accordingly. Also it started following my commands EVENTUALLY. But it is still way more frustration than seems worth. And even then, it just seems to meander between different locations without any actual plot progression. Honestly, AI Dungeon seems to suck compared to NovelAI. Granted, I have only played with Gryphon and Gryphon-Beta, but everything I hear says that Dragon and Wyvern are even worse, despite the fact that you have to PAY to use them. No matter what I do, I just cannot get AI Dungeon to co-operate with me.

@@glibatree anyway, can you explain all your settings to make the story be like in the video? I try to use same memory and Author's note like yo do, but, it doesn't give me any option when the story goes.

@@zorioncosima7786 In addition to those three settings, I wrote the original prompt that included choices. These AI were originally trained to continue existing text (like predict the next page in this book- sort of thing) So, if you give it a format to follow the Dragon AI does a pretty good job. I didn't mess with any settings that you don't see in the video.

No this is not how ai dungeon should work it turns it into an normal text adventure so no

Except for the fact that it is Infinite and AI Generated, also writing your own actions would still be an option. It's just that these actions helps you take the story in crazy directions you might not even have thought of. I respect that it might not be as much fun for you, but I stand by the title haha.
