In Sweden we take of our shoes in school, on jobs, at homeparties, at healthcenter, dentist, at hospital, at kindergarten etc. It’s just obvious. i think you should still wash your shoes even if you dont wear them inside. Basically use hot water and soap and rinse them and toss them on a shoe dryer you can get for 30 bucks and it keeps your shoes comfy and always fresh.... takes 5 min tops if you need to get the pebbles from the soles out

No it's not I used to do it sometimes. It really does prevent alot of dirt from getting tracked in. Nowadays, I have two pairs of casual, and running shoes. Then I have 1 pair of indoor shoes (that I never walk outside with). Whenever I come back home I always remove my outside shoes and walk around in my socks or I put on my indoor shoes. It quite an easy thing to do and you don't have to worry about your house getting dirty so quickly.

I don't know anyone who washes their tennis shoes in the washing machine except for only a couple times when the shoes were still pretty new and they were somehow in danger of having to be thrown out because of an accidental drenching of mud or river/creek water. It takes a long time for tennis shoes to dry and a lot of times they will start stinking fairly quickly after they have "dried" and start being worn again. Washing them is pretty much just a way to try and extend their wearing capability for a short while before they start stinking and need to be trashed. I used to think washing my tennies was a good idea and figured out it was just wishful thinking.

As a Canadian I was SHOCKED to learn Americans wear their shoes indoors on their carpet, in their kitchen... so gross... Will COVID-19 epidemic change this behaviour? The virus can be sneezed onto the ground you walk on, traipsed into your living room where you LIVE.

Ok I understand about the whole “ take your shoes off before u step in the house” thing but, let’s be real, who would wipe their shoes off with antibacterial wipes??AND throw them in the washer?😂

Everybody write that nobody has shoes inside in Asia. It’s the same in europé. Nobody wears shoes inside here either. In Sweden we take of our shoes in school, on jobs, at homeparties, at healthcenter, dentist, at hospital, at kindergarten etc. It’s just obvious. Otherwise it gets dirty from all the rain, dirt and snow. And it’s just more comfortable
