Probably because most people know how to do this, and OnlyFans, which is clearly the example target, doesn't post thumbnails (you have to be subscribed to see ANYTHING). Paywalls can't simply be bypassed this way, it has nothing to do with that, it's only about getting a full-sized image from a thumbnail, really. Bypassing a paywall is a MUCH more difficult task, unless the site is stupid about how it introduces the wall, and you generally have to phish a user to gain access without paying (which disclaimer time, is technically illegal).

It's 2024 and last year (the latest data) these vulnerabilities still account for 70% of ALL vulnerabilities found by security researchers in HackerOne. In fact, they are the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th most found vulnerabilities while #1 is still XSS... BTW XSS is supposed to have also been "fixed" over 10 years ago...
