Follow my foolproof steps for this easy grilled salmon recipe for a delicious dish that comes together in minutes and, more importantly, it's intact. These cooking techniques repeatedly prove how well they work.
Ingredients for this recipe:
• 2 8-ounce salmon fillets
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
• 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
• coarse salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste
Serves 3
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 7 minutes
Procedures:
1. Portion the salmon fillets to the size of your liking.
2. Pat the fish down well on all sides with a paper towel.
3. Next, drizzle on the oil and rub it in to coat it on all sides.
4. Season the fish well with coarse salt and freshly cracked pepper on both sides.
5. Preheat the grill to high heat, which is about 450° to 550°.
6. Once hot, be sure the grill is clean using a grill brush.
7. Oil the grill using a kitchen towel that is saturated with oil and rubbed on using a pair of long tongs.
8. Place the salmon flesh side down and cook for 4 minutes. Do not touch it.
9. Gently flip the salmon over, using a spatula or tongs, or both and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes or until it reaches about 125° internally.
10. Remove the salmon from the grill and add on melted butter and lemon juice and let it rest for 2 to 3 minutes.

Finally a simple & healthy grilled salmon recipe that doesn’t involve honey or maple syrup!!! I want to leave sugar recipes for desserts not meats. Thanks for showing how to cook it with the skin & how to remove it. I REALLY appreciate this recipe & video. Thanks for explaining the difference in farm-raised & wild caught fish. I just subscribed as a result & will be grilling this for my husband on Father’s Day. ❤

I went to a Japanese restaurant that served a salmon skin salad that was absolutely delicious. They crisped up the skin and put it over a bed of mixed greens, bean sprouts, grated carrots and other veggies then drizzled with a soy-sesame-miso dressing. The crispy skin was kind of like low carb fish croutons. It was wonderful and oh so healthy.

I get a salmon rub from Etta’s at Pikes Place Market in Seattle they popularized cedar plank salmon. It’s a mix of brown sugar and Cajun spices and the salmon comes out with a beautiful spicy sweet glaze. I also want the plank to get charred giving the salmon a mild smoky flavor.

Nice job Chef. We enjoy fresh Atlantic Salmon at least once a week, cooked over natural lump charcoal on our BGE. You mentioned fresh wild vs. frozen Atlantic, but I did want you to know there is another choice. It is available from a surprising source, America's largest retailer and since it is fresh, a far better alternative to the frozen from Whole Paycheck ;-)

ER doc here. Please never use grill brushes with wires. All it takes is for one little wire to break off and become hidden in your grilled food. This wire can get stuck in your throat resulting in an unnecessary trip to the ER where we have to get it out! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ncrrulez
@ncrrulez 2 күн бұрын
Good point! What I do for that is I clean it with a wire brush and afterwards when it’s heating up I use an onion to clean the grill. In theory it should pick up any wire
@jpartidamtb
@jpartidamtb 2 күн бұрын
I’m no ER doc here but, consider the long term effects of onions: Oral health issues: The juices from raw onions can irritate gums and cause bad breath, while the fibrous texture can get stuck between teeth and lead to plaque buildup. Digestive discomfort: Raw onions contain fructans, which can be difficult to digest and cause bloating and gas. Allergies: While uncommon, people of all ages can be allergic to onions. Symptoms include swelling, trouble breathing, itching, and hives. People with onion allergies may also react to other edible alliums, such as garlic, chives, scallions, and shallots. Anaphylaxis, a rare but severe allergic reaction, is possible in people who are severely allergic to onions, especially if the onion is raw or lightly cooked. Anaphylaxis is a medical emergency that requires immediate care. Medications: Onions can interact with certain medications, such as blood thinners, which contain compounds that may have anticoagulant properties. Onions may also lower blood sugar, which can be harmful for diabetic patients, especially during and after surgical procedures. Huge brain buster…. With a biased opinion and a shallow view of the world you’ll brush off anything and everything coming your way. I’d never go back to your office if you told me this 👆 Biggest takeaway is “common sense…” Don’t grill if you have bad vision or can not see the deteriorated brush “solid” bristles.
