Great job picking over the best stuff at the garage sales! You did it well. I too go for the vintage items from the 60's through the 80's whenever I can find them. They always sell well on Ebay. Some people are not aware that Ebay's own data shows their greatest percentage of audience is in the 40 year and older category so things like Bruce Springsteen items are something most Ebay shoppers can relate to. I have found you really need to target your purchases at garage sales to fit what works well on Ebay if you limit your selling to that one venue. I really liked the buy it, drop it off, and consign it to a local outlet concept for the larger, hard to ship bulky items. That's something I probably need to also get into doing. I do list that sort of thing on Craiglist and Nextdoor apps but they don't pull nearly as well as I would like. Was especially nice to see your comment about the patio furniture selling nearly instantly. Gotta love buying and selling an item on the same day!

You found some nice stuff. Lately all the sales I have been to, are over pricing their stuff and not moving it. Every one of them say "I gotta get rid of this stuff and I'm willing to sell it cheap" but never ends up being the case. People think their stuff is worth more than it actually is. If you want eBay prices, then list it on eBay and deal with the returns and scammers. Gotta be meat on the bone or it's just not worth it. America has a hoarding problem. They have so much stuff, they want to unload it in yard/garage sales, but think they need big money out of it. They end up boxing the stuff back up and packing it back in the garage/storage unit and making zip. Getting SOMETHING for your stuff you don;t WANT/USE anymore is better than tripping over your junk.

I would recommend research on the Pendleton plaid shirts. You should get at least $25, but you may get more if they are older. Pendleton Woolen Mills is a blanket and sportswear company out of the NW in Portland, OR dating back to the 1860’s. They were always known for quality.

Love the videos! Why don't most resellers ever tell the homeowners that they are resellers? I feel like most of the time there is an opportunity but the resellers usually go another route and make it seem like they will use the item/product themselves, myself included. And happy 4th!
@lukethereseller77034 жыл бұрын
Pickin' Ain't Easy I understand why and i do this myself, sometimes i feel like if i was honest they may put the price up or be a bit unsure about it. However, the times i have been honest about it, more often than not, they have brought more stuff out to sell to me and then we do a bulk deal. I think better to be honest if you feel they want to shift a lot of stuff and you want to build a relationship, especially if they come across stuff often.
@thepicker90794 жыл бұрын
Facts, Over the course of my 12 + years of full time reselling i have learned that letting people know you are a reseller and you are willing to pay top dollar for items gets me way more opportunities to buy more and get to the better stuff they have inside waiting to sell to someone who is willing and able to buy. Over the years i learned to be open and honest with people but there is definitely a good way and a bad way to go about it. If you come off as a pedaler who is just looking to snag stuff for dirt cheap to resell it you will get a lot of push back and you will not succeed with your goal of buying more stuff from them, but if you have a good talk game and you have the knowledge and experience to explain to people that you are a serious buyer who has the cash and is willing to pay fair prices for items of value you will gain their trust and you will most likely get a call back or invited to see other items they are looking to sell. Over the years this tactic has worked wonders for me, just this past weekend i was at a yard sale where they had numerous military items from the WW1 and WW2 era and i talked with the seller some and explained to them i was a serious buyer and would be interested in buying more if they had more and he said exactly this "Yea we have more stuff but i didn't want to set it out because its high value items and i know i wouldn't get someone serious enough at a yard sale to buy it all" and i was in there. Long story long i was able to buy roughly $2k worth of really rare military items from him and i also bought some silver and gold from him as well. Facts are most reseller try to act like normal regular buyers looking to use or keep the items they buy but thats not actually the best route to take because it makes your purchase a one time deal and no further buying can be done, Where as my method makes it that if they have more later one they call me personally and i can buy more and they usually pass my info onto other people who call me. Its all about networking and building yourself up in your local community as a buyer who is willing to pay cash for unwanted item. Why do you think pawn shops get so much business? Its because people know they can take stuff to them and get cash!

Point of information/interest John - Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini is from Youngstown - your Northeastern Ohio neighbor. His father was a boxer many years before but never really "made it" , so Ray decided to try to attain what his father always "wanted" but never really achieved (his Dad was referred to as Boom Boom as well). Ray did fairly well in the boxing world but was "shattered" when, through a FREAK ACCIDENT a boxer from Korea(?) was felled by a legit punch but just hit the wrong way or something and he died (I think was ruled brain dead at hospital and his family had to make a HORRIFIC decision from so many many miles away. Ray was raised on the East side of Youngstown and his sister actually lived around the corner from my husband and me years later. He was always good to Youngstown over the years and Youngstown has always been good to him. Just thought you MIGHT be interested in the "story" attached to your garage sale find !!

Seeing those vintage shirts and hearing they only wanted $1 a piece, my jaw about hit the floor. Vintage music shirts can pull huge money, and Springsteen fans are rabid. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t get several hundred dollars for those shirts all together. Might take a minute for the right buyer to come along, but they’ll go for good money. eBay also might not be the best platform to sell them, clothing can often do better on other sites.
