I have heard it said that Olympic Judo ruined the martial art. Some are saying we have seen the same thing happen to Karate, and Tae Kwon Do.

Ancient Ju Jitsu was effectively meant to beat a stronger opponent than you, but not Judo... In the beginning of Judo, it was just a Ju Jitsu school among others, with atemis and so on, looking like the karate of Funakoshi... But as the time goes by, Judo became a sport, with weight categories... Do you think a 55 kg judoka could beat Teddy Riner ? Good luck to him !
