What's up KZbin! I'm planning to develop a course on how to be a travel nurse practitioner- per diem, part time, or full time, and how you can *double your current NP salary. Comment below if you are interested in this!

Yes! Me!! This is exactly what I need to learn about! (Among many other things of course.) I'm starting NP school next spring and I want to find a way to leverage the best aspects of advanced practice and travel nursing at the same time. Sure, I want the money to be sustainable and worth the time and effort of going back to school. But more importantly, I want the freedom and autonomy to move and relocate at will. I have had a bad case of wanderlust since I was a teenager, and having a family who is onboard and a career that lends itself to travel I'm looking for the best way to make this happen.

Hola friends! So wanted to share my situation but also a SECRET! Everyone NP should target Dermatology IF you really wanna chase the money. So currently I do derm and make 35% of whatever I bring into the clinic. Because of this I really have unlimited income. Last year I made 365K. It can be worry some if your income is based on production about the “what if” patients stop coming but in the past 7 years I have never had to worry about that.

I don't know, dermatology is iffy--another covid, bad economy, WW3, increased inflation people will skip dermatology imo

FNP in rural Arizona, primary care 3-4 days a week, $162k per year and small bonus. No raise since 2021 though. Headed to upstate NY and curious as to what they will offer

You can make great money BUT big corporations, hospitals and private practice physician owned clinics will absolutely pay you the minimal, because they can. It’s very similar IMO to what’s going on (and has been) in nursing in hospital systems (newer RN’s get paid the least; work the hard jobs and eventually leave to travel, move up the ladder or move on for more money) but like you said; amplified because of the high saturation of FNP’s. CVS can pay an FNP $39/hr because it’s a very new grad friendly job, and there’s so many new grad FNP’s that they will actually compete for that job (I got paid way more as an RN with cvs doing vaccines on contract btw).

Hi there, I'm a dual certified FNP and PMHNP in Virginia. Make just over $150K + 35-50K in bonuses per year working no more than 40 hours per week. This is a W2 position with benefits package. I think I'm pretty fairly compensated for only being an NP for 4.5 years, though with housing in this area, could always make more money! Appreciate the video!!

the west all together pays more than the east and south in general. salaries for nursing etc are much higher out this way. RNs in california can easily make NP salaries. the only reason one pursues NP in california is because of the schedule usually mon-friday otherwise they can make as much in their current position. california has the best nursing laws in the country, and highest salaries in the country as well. i really wish other states would adapt that model, it seems the PNW is heading in that direction (Oregon, washington) etc.

Yes- I can attest to that after living in Ca the last year and a half. However, the cost of living is literally unreasonable 😂

You can make $72.27 an hour starting new grad with a BSN in Sacramento.. I was super shocked but I was also super stocked haha
@getinthespace7715
@getinthespace7715 10 ай бұрын
Be careful not to ignore cost of living and taxes... Cost of living in Sacramento is 20% higher than national average. Taxes are high, will also be about 32%. You'll clear $100k but that's the equivalent of $80k after taxes if you lived in a more reasonable part of the country... If you have kids... you'll likely have to put them in private school in CA. California's public schools are near the worst in the country.

@happyface27 , my wife graduates with her NP in Michigan, just signed a contract for $95/hr... Taxes are lower, cost of living is 30% less. Much safe and better place to raise a family. You couldn't pay me enough to live in those crime and drug riden major CA cities.

also forgot to mention is we attract more men into nursing i can guarantee salaries will be much higher and better working conditions overall. since its primarily a womens field (female dominated) its lowly paid for the amount of work and education required. in the west we have more male nurses from my experience compared to the south and or midwest etc.

How does one get taxed when working at wildernessmedical? Is it by my home state like if I live in Texas and I wouldn’t be taxed?
@DavidWarrenNP
@DavidWarrenNP Жыл бұрын
What's up man. Most locum companies (WMS included) pays you a lump sum, without taxes taken out. At the end of the year, they issue a 1099, and then you file your taxes with that. You just file your taxes in whatever state you live in. My residence is Texas, and there's no state income tax, so I don't have to worry with that. But if you lived in a state with state income tax, then you would pay taxes on what you made with a locums company in your home state.

I’m in a NP program at a reputable university. It’s part of a college and hospital in a large city. Im staring my 3 rd semester and I went in adult gero. But I have talked w my advisor about changing to adult acute. Im a little older, 40. A lot of nursing experience. Considering traveling after a little experience. How much experience do u have to get to travel w ur NP and is there much opportunity to travel w AGPCNP?
