Yeah, there’s so much lore to Padmé and so far they’ve only showed the smallest fragments of it. They’ve done Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, so I don’t think it would be too much to ask for a Tales of the Republic with half of it centered around Padmé, since they could take snippets of the more interesting scenes from the books, and maybe they could also show more of Palpatine’s scheming, showing that the Republic also had many flaws, which is a very big part of the Skywalker Saga.

John Adams thought the president should be titled like a king. It was Washington who said no, that it would be "just Mr President." The idea for Adams was to raise the President to equal standing as the European monarchs, so that they would respect the position. So not totally unheard of. (And then Washington stepped down after 2 terms because his health was failing and he knew if he took the 3rd term he would surely win, that he would die in office. He feared that if he did it would set the precedent that the POTUS was a lifelong appointment.)

The current canon is completely different. Naboo as a planet basically has child prodigies and they elect very young rulers, often queens. Padme, a 14 year old being educated in politics and civics, ran and won. she planned to make Naboo less dependent on its neighbors which is why palpatine had to do the blockade earlier than he planned since her plan would have made it far less effective

Since when did royalty work that way? Now if she was presidents and their were term limits that would make more sense. Maybe prime minister.
