Actually, in the book dumbledore does ask him calmly. The movies are so different from the books, I cant even. The 4th book is like one long riddle. A cool thriller as the mystery unravels. But the movie just gives it away with the stupid tongue lick. As a fan of the books, I just cant tolerate the movies after the second one.
