i know one thing. if i was among the first people who played this game in vr when it came out, i would have been scared to death and it still is the scariest horror experience you can have in all of gaming. period

What really grinds my gears about Capcom is that they did a reboot in order to dial it back to the roots of the franchise and, while they mostly did a phenomenal job (up until the boat it's 9/10 classic), it only took them a sequel title to go totally off the rails in to the realm of fantasy. You went from a Mansion-style focus to what culminated in to God-like beings with psychic super powers who would make even Wesker blush. The Rose DLC was the inevitable outcome since this push started and while I am happy they ended the Winters' saga with it it's still so bizarre that they would paint themselves in to a corner so fast as if they need to do another reboot with RE9 or just hand wave it away as some kind of self-contained story. I really wish they put more thought in to what they want out of this franchise in the long run instead of going ham with juggling around how RE fits in different genres which breaks up the franchise. It's why it seems like Village, when compared to Biohazard, hasn't aged well at all because it's just so absurd.
