Remember that before being a pirate Brook was a knight (that's where his swordsman skills come from). Brook lore goes deeper than we actually even think about. Sure he was a pirate 52 years ago, but by then he was already in his late 30s, almost 40. Dude had a whole other life before becoming a pirate. And we still don't know when he ate his devil fruit

5:37 I mean it could be. We've now seen that haki/will can be tied up in a knot and used later. A woven strawhat in a way is a bunch of individual straw threads knotted together. Who's to say, maybe emu will tear apart the hat and then be torn apart himself by the voices of the past woven into it. The strawhat is also like a metaphor for all the previous owners you are talking about. Each one by themselves can't accomplish anything but when woven together they have a form and purpose.

I think that previous owner of the straw hat (or maybe of the giant hat) was Oars II, son of the Oars we met on Thriller Bark and father of Oars Jr aka Oars III. Both Oars and Oars Jr have a conncetion to hats, so I don't think it's unlikely that the missing link between the generations was one of the owners of the straw hat

Ever since the "Haki knot" that Emet unleashed in Egghead, I'm convinced that the Straw Hat is constantly being imbued with Joyboy Candidate Haki. Generation after generation that whoever inherited the hat is either knowingly or most likely in Luffy's case, unknowingly putting Haki in that hat and if that's the case, it's gonna be used in some ridiculously OP way end of series. Have you seen the theory Den Den Kushi dropped about the idea that the Ancient Kingdom is actually an island traveling along the undersea currents and the reason Roger was too early to Laugh Tale is because it wasnt due to resurface again until Luffy's generation? It goes into the idea of the bridges at Tequila Wolf etc being built so that, when the kingdom resurfaces, the bridges all connect and locks it in place so Mariejois can invade and take what's left of the ancient technology. Insane theory but it makes a hell of a lot of sense
