Something so interesting about silver’s tournaments is the character people build for themselves throughout playing multiple events like commonhat or avoma. The audience starts expecting them to act a certain way on a team that when they break character, ie avoma sacrificing himself for neo, it fills the video with new stakes that keeps the video and people from feeling stale

Coming from the UHC/PvP community, I have seen dozens of big PvP creators switch their content to something more mainstream to a lot of success, and while I am always happy for these creators, Silver was the one person who managed to keep my attention when he went from UHC/Hypixel to more general Minecraft content. This was a good video.

I feel like there is so much more to the manhunt concept. Like, there's multiple hunters and twists that's very prevalent. Speed's tournament thing was really nice. But like, hear me out: - Multiple speedrunners + one hunter (to make it balanced the speedrunners are not on the same team and only one can beat the game) - Speedrunner, hunter, and a third party that poses a threat to both - regular manhunt but the hunter can be more lowkey and manipulative to get ahead of the speedrunner and take resources and throw them into the lava, forcing the speedrunner to beat the game in other ways. The lack of action may not fare well, but hey I like these kinda stuff its more unpredictable and is much more of a threat imo. - manhunt but with Town of Salem roles (some specialized roles can aid the speedrunner and hunters can get specialized roles, and also third party roles can play a part)

Couldn't have said it better myself... Silver fixed the main problem with manhunts which was the fact that a 40 minute manhunt would have only 10 minutes total of plot-changing events (clutches, killing the hunters, getting crazy loot, etc). Silver now could fill in the dead time with things that other people were up to, or items that had to be attained which would give them a winning advantage. The manhunt, or battle royale gamemode was no longer a video with a beginning and an end, but a complex story with nodal points that could completely change the outcome... Undoubtedly I can say that's why I enjoy watching his videos even despite the length :)

There's several ways you can spice up manhunt styled content, depending on what you like content wise, a massive borderline SMP is certainly an interesting approach. I'm more a fan of the survive as long as possible in a smaller playable area myself but that's more because of the tag like qualities.

Definitely an improvement from the ish video i liked that you explained the content creator by themselves instead of comparing them too other whit a whole different approach on the same like subject of content made it alot like easier to watch and easier to understand cus when you only explain the content creator instead of comparing them to someone else you don’t really need the context from the other creators and the players but i would still like the players perspective from that content creator (but it’s not needed at like it was in ishs that you just kinda needed the players and content creators from the different creators you compared him too so you could actually know all the context) and whit these like videos when you just explain the event and content creation in themselves it’s not needed to know the players feel on it and all that cus it’s just one creator that you talked about and not multiple hopefully this made sense but keep doing what you do💛

I still stand by Kier and Dev as great manhunts, simply because while most come in as manhunts with elaborate twists, which are great and funny, there are also other unique videos. For example, there are several videos where they all create their own twists, another where they completely remade the game for the other person to beat, and other interesting ideas.

I watch silver's videos from uhc he had made in his old channel, then on his new channel, he did some manhunt with wisp which was intense and uplifting but the combination of hunger game + manhunt and tournament like is wholesome and popular trend for speedsilver

I mean, I don't necessarily agree. Dream's manhunts are an example of just pure skill in vanilla minecraft from all aspects. Silver's videos are good in their own way, but in terms of raw vanilla skill, Dream's videos are king. (At least, they were. IMO past 4 hunters the series felt predictable and stale. The real downfall IMO was bringing in a lot of fodder for hunters vs actually skilled hunters. There is NO ONE on youtube right now filling the niche of actually skilled survival pvp. Dream should've just brought in more sapnaps instead of whatever the fuck george and BBH are). The only gamemodes that come even close are UHC, bedwars and CTW (yes, let me explain). UHC I don't have to explain. Bedwars, well okay, bedwars is a meme, sure, but at least it's one of the few places where aerial battles (and thus placing blocks and movement) are actually important and skillful. CTW is one of the best displays of parkour and block placements imaginable, but obviously the pvp is lacking (it probably is the closest to real "manhunt feeling" there is, but still it's artifical in the sense that you have infinite blocks, have infinite tries and infinite lives, hypixel players are trash, etc). The only content nowadays that even comes close is speedrun highlights of things cracked players do (since doing something cracked in the heat of the moment makes it cracked). Huh? What do you mean? This is just uhc, it's been around for at least 9 years now. Hypixel's own spin on uhc even has a much more elaborate craftable custom item system...You know speedsilver used to do a lot of hardcore pvp and who would have known, uhc content on his channel before he rebranded right? Is the concept of uhc so dead that people are starting to reinvent it? Honestly makes me want to shed a tear😭

Damn, this is a pretty big oversight on my part. The only experience I have with UHC is watching itmg trap people, I only knew Silver previously from his Hypixel Skyblock content, and Silver's video just felt a lot more like a manhunt video than a UHC video, so I hyper focused on the "manhunt" part, and also "minecraft manhunt" is probably magnitudes better for the algorithm than "hypixel uhc". Doing some quick research on it now, and it does look like Silver's custom items are inspired by Hypixel custom items, so it looks like I was wrong about that part being a completely original idea from Silver. However, I think that it would be disingenuous to call Silver's video just a rebranded Hypixel uhc for all the reasons I mentioned in the video, and also Silver's event lasts multiple days while a UHC game is around 45 minutes to an hour. Plus, game design wise, Silver's implementation of legendary items is very different to Hypixel UHC; the items for the crafting recipe in UHC are reasonable to get within 30 minutes are are also fairly balanced, where Silver's legendary weapons are ridiculously expensive and are meant to be extremely powerful.
