Honestly I have a 2006 Impala SS with abs and a S10 blazer 2 door with a 350 swap with Corvette break pads rotors and calipers. In my abs car goes through brakes and rotors less than the vehicle without. Meaning it wasn't the ABS fault you f***** up. That much water will never ever ever pass through your brake assembly that router was hard as hell and you probably threw cold water on it. There's difference between hot metal getting Sprayed with water vs getting dumped on it and only one side of that much pressure. .

ABS is "anti-lock brake system" which helps the brakes for 1 not to lock completely up and make you slide, 2 abs pulsate "pump the brakes"through one of the vehicles computers(ecu,pcm,ecm), 3 they are meant to help the vehicle stop safely and not completely destroying the whole system
@_misterpanda

As a person who's dad is a car engineer, i can confirm this is NOT how ABS works. ABS is a computer based part of the car, which, when u break, detects when ur wheels slide and and relievs the oil pressure in the brakes on the wheel that slid so ur car doesnt rotate and hit something. And i can aswell say, ABS is ur best friend in winter.

As a tech I'm watching this thinking .... wtf... why even do this. The ABS pump very quickly pulses the brakes instead of locking them up, which actually helps to slow the vehicle when the wheels are slipping, like on ice for example. Here they are revving the engine to overpower the brake system, causing overheating and critical failure of the brakes. This has got to be a troll post...

The antilock brake system on my motorcycle worked fine. I was going down a moderately downhill, back road that was covered with fly ash. Just to be maintaining my speed, I touched the front brake. I am a front brake braker on street bikes/ ex 6 Time road racing champion, two time national champion. My point is I know how to use the brakes. I also spent decades, off-road, riding dirt bikes, so I know how to use front and back brakes on slippery surfaces, like loose shell, mud, wet, leaves, over slippery, exposed roots, etc.. as I was going down this paved road with flyash on it, I touched the front brake lever. I had no brakes.. ZERO brakes..I also was also trying back brakes..I was only doing about 35 miles an hour. I had no brakes, front or rear. So the ABS was working fine. It detected that the wheel was prone to locking up on the slippery surface, and it did not apply the brakes all the way to the bottom of the hill. There was a 90° turn at the bottom that I was not going to make. So I ran straight off and thru the grass and into a wire. fence surrounding a auto salvage yard. I did not drop my 920 pound motorcycle, but it did break the front fender. I sold that motorcycle just after that. ABS brakes are a placebo for idiots. Especially on a motorcycle where one wheel is the one that’s going to save your life, the front one. …when that stops working, you have no option except to aim for something soft-IF you have time….. that was on my BMW K 1200 LT I sold that machine and I bought a moto Guzzi Norge.. that also had ABS brakes with a difference. At the push of a button on the dashboard, I could switch the ABS braking system to conventional brakes., so that I would actually have brakes for those times when I’m on wet grassy slopes in a campground or on a road that the rain has washed gravel out onto the road or if I get caught in a sudden snowstorm which has happened to me a few times at work. I commuted to work on my motorcycle those days. I made it home fine with no ABS on those motorcycles. If any of those motorcycles had ABS that could not be turned off, I would not have made it out of the parking lot at work… The safety features dreamed up by committees are dangerous at times. another improvement we could benefit by getting rid of is traction control. Ask anyone that lives in a remote area and has a general motors pick up truck with traction control in the winter. They live out in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming, or Montana, they turn onto a side road to their home, 6 miles up that road in the snow, traction control, will not let that vehicle continue as soon as it detects snow. KZbin has many videos published by people explaining how to disconnect traction control on your General Motors pick up truck so you can actually get home if it snows.. i had a very close call on a snow day in my company car/ jeep.. I had just got gas and was pulling out onto the road carefully. I had to drive through the slush on the sides of the road leaving the gas station. There was a gas tanker truck about a football field length away approaching. I had lots of time. But my Jeep detected wheels slippage at the sides of the road as I was pulling out and stopped moving. that tanker truck laid on the horns and swerved into the oncoming lanes to miss me. I was lucky that day, because there was no traffic in the opposing lane to give the truck room to swerve… ever since that day, the first thing I do is put my seatbelt on and turn off the traction control automatically every day.. someone needs to save us from the people that think they’re saving us

Yeah I agree abs gets in the way at times. On my 2015 c300 it has sensor abs so if it detects the need to stop it’ll hard brake on it’s own without me even touching. Thing had me almost crash in the middle of an intersection because it went off due to a dirty sensor

@Popityman
@Popityman 6 ай бұрын
This isn't testing aluminum brake rotors nor abs. ABS or anti lock brake system flutters your brakes while turning and braking to stop wheel lock and there are such things as aluminum brake rotors specifically aluminum composite rotors, they do not wear this fast.
@Popityman
@Popityman 6 ай бұрын
Also most rotors on the road today are cast iron steel rotors are usually only used for performance applications.
I've made brake rotors out of Lead, Aluminium, and Copper.
