The problem is for mid level career move to suitable cybersecurity paying jobs very tough

You certainly touch on a good point because as you rise in the ranks of a certain career field, it becomes difficult to switch and start near the bottom. There are of course things that you can do to improve your knowledge and skills but at the end of the day, you can't entirely replace the experience that's going to make a lateral move possible. This is very situationally dependent though because the low end of cybersecurity salaries can be higher than the middle of some career fields.

What should i do instead? It sounds like you are in Australia as well. I am currently doing a certificate IV Cybersecurity not google or coursera related but finding it challenging to get any jobs in IT atm and getting rejected as well. I am not getting past the application stage and no one wants to give me feedback at all.

I recommend grabbing my free eBook ( jongood.com/getstarted/ ) and checking out the included roadmap. As someone outside of the United States (i.e., where I am), I would also like you to look through job postings and see if there are any required certifications for your location. In general, the skills and knowledge are the same, but you occasionally have mandates that may exist, and honestly, that research is part of being competitive in your career.

I’m currently trying to transition into a junior level security analyst position after working in IT admin field for 6 years. I paid for a resume and LinkedIn overhaul. Haven’t gotten any interviews since applying. I currently hold CompTIA Security +, Blue team level 1 , and looking to start some red team certs to round out my knowledge. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Although I can't speak to your particular situation of whoever you paid for a resume and LinkedIn overhaul, I can tell you that I've had plenty of people come to work with me after paying self-proclaimed "experts" to do those services, and they find out very quickly that their information is absolute trash in comparison to what I provide, so I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for you. I always recommend starting with my free eBook ( jongood.com/getstarted/ ) and completing the included roadmap, which you're already on your way! Additionally, I recommend watching my video on resumes to understand what a high-performing resume is. There's plenty of other great career advice throughout my channel. Still, at this point, you need to evaluate where you're at and ensure everything is squared away before you start going after many different certifications. One last key failure that people are making in transitioning from IT is that their resume tends to be heavily written in the eyes of an IT person. You need to ensure it reads like a cybersecurity person to get an employer's attention.
