Seriously. When he said that I was floored. Of course he's taking a huge loss, he bought it NEW and then drove the thing into the ground. That bike is beat to hell, he's insanely lucky he got 3 grand for it, that shouldn't have sold for more than 1,200. When it comes to ebikes you consider 2 things, the overall condition of the bike itself, and then electrical components second. If you think of how bad that physical bike was, that should be a good indication of how beat up the electrical actually is. That battery is a major part of the cost, and was probably stored incorrectly, drained to 0 multiple times, left at full charge multiple times. Also who knows how many charge cycles it's had. I would have countered his 3,100 offer with an offer based on the cost of all the needed replacement parts, AND the battery. So probably around 1,200 at most. Kid is lucky, and honestly probably doesn't understand the value of a dollar at all.

That bike is still worth every penny. Most likely it will be up graded anyway. The stock parts are kinda cheap. The sub frame is only 200. If thats a lot to you then you will be shocked when you see how much it is for upgraded everything. Its always best to buy a new one and break it yourself

Even for 3000 it's still way too much, here in hungary a stock goes around that price in good condition. That thing was probably never been touched, and those cheap and shitty forks and shocks that they came with would use a service way more often than good ones, as stock those DNM forks (or KKE which looks better but internally 100% identical and a better looking copy of DNM) are grease lubricated and has shitty seals so it eats in dust, dirt, water and mud really easily which will cause more stickiness and will sand down the stanchions over time and may develop play too if it didn't have any from the factory yet, i believe they fit RockShox 35mm seals too and then can be filled with oil which helps a lot but i never tested that myself. The stem is only rotated, which was a smart idea on an electric dirt bike, even if it's a light one with DH parts you just don't use a normal stem on a dual crown, rather use an integrated one like everyone else. Brakes are probably in the need of a full cleaning, new pads, o-rings, seals and new oil too, shock doesn't need that much maintenance but still could thank a service simetimes, but seeing and hearing how beaten up that poor bike is it probably has a lot of small things too that has to be replaced like bearings, bushings, maybe chain and even chainrings too, belt etc. Who knows, only some testing and a full teardown would tell.
