The point of the game (gameplay wise) is to make these paths easier and easier the more you go through them. The first time you deliver to an area you haven't been to before (not connected), it will be a daunting task because you have no ziplines, roads, community ropes and ladders, and more. So to say that a mechanic to make a path easier is superfluous is just so insane. "The game didn't explain them" BRO it's a fucking zipline, what do they need to explain to you? Try the mechanic out yourself? My favorite part of the game on my journey to platinum was connecting ziplines all across the map to every single prepper so I could take a delivery in like 3 minutes. 37:00 is it okay to upload gameplay with 0 kick back? Yeah, why not? You pay for the product. You get your fun out of it. If your job is being a children's entertainer. Why should all of that revenue go to a big label music company instead? I get it when it comes to sharing music. It makes total sense. But music with explosions, chatter, footsteps, wind, birds chirping etc. over the top of it is being monetized as if it were a radio broadcast. But Phil as usual tackles the issue skin deep. In general, though, he's right. Contend ID should be for use where work is non-transformative or for commercial works where other works are used unlicensed. Let's look at it this way. A good use: You're making a commercialized video and you didn't get the rights to a song that's used throughout (more than the 20-30 or so seconds that would be reasonably allowed). A bad use: It triggers because it identifies several frames from a work that you're referencing or flags your video and blocks it based on a few seconds of audio. The problem with content Id is that it's rarely compliant with the former and ALWAYS triggers on the latter. To the point where parody video now has to jump through hoops of potentially fighting DMCA. Same with Reviews. Content ID is broken... but Phil doesn't really understand why. He just sees revenue loss.

Every game mechanic, cutting the umbilical cords at 3:40:00 was clearly explained, when you got the new cuffs. I think she even tells you over the radio that you can cut the cords. Dude does not listen to anything in the game and gets upset when he is lost. Can't even read the menu to see that it says press R3 to next page. He just wants to be handheld through everything, can't be assed to explore the game mechanics.

You're right, the game mechanics are explained it's just that Phil doesn't listen to explanations and skips those segments to "progress" and "get ahead" faster. Which leads to failures, and time wasted. Same in every game he plays. He prefers the handholding from people in the chat. He then goes on this long winding rant that the game should explain to the player all of the core mechanics, and the gamer should be this empty husk devoid of intelligence just mechanically performing the actions required of him, as if gamers were reduced to machines and not even humans, which is of course a horrible vision of what gaming should be about. Old games didn't even explain anything to you, instead they would come with a paper manual you were expected to read and memorize.

1:21:10 Typical Philbert. There's a whole section in the cuffs dedicated to various weapons and combat in general. I'm pretty sure the strand parry is shown at your first mule encounter and many players stumble back on it even if they forget about it. Even in that fight he had no idea to strike or throw cases at the MULES. The combat was really clunky, but it really wasn't hard either after a few encounters. Kojima games really are this dudes kryptonite. When the game explains something important he is always doing 1 of 3 things: paying attention to chat/money, making a childlike joke, or skips it. He also outright refuses to explore background intel that is provided by Cuffs (or MGS Codec), nor does he try any other tactics or even test different buttons on the controller to stumble on something ("where are the rations"). Then meathead complains he wasn't taught major mechanics. He's so rigid with everything in life, I'm convinced he needs to see someone about being on the spectro.

When the game was released, people quickly realized the vehicles were all around shoddy and useless; if he hadn't tried to just rush everything and actually engage with it, he'd have found thinking about routes instead of beelining it everywhere, he'd have had a much smoother and faster time. That and actually building stuff with other players. The ziplines make the last third of the game an absolute cakewalk and the fact he couldn't take a minute to understand (or remember) controls that are really not anymore complex than any of the MGS games is kind of karma for him in that regard.
