One thing I'll give DSP credit for is the variety of characters he plays. It's tough playing like twenty different characters on stream 'for content' or otherwise. Lot of the folks I run into online are character loyalists with 10,000 games in Cammy or whatever.

Taunts are a good tool for pissing your opponent off and getting them to be more aggressive and hopefully make mistakes etc. In Phil's case though he takes it personal and makes that salt even sweeter or saltier in this case. You wanna know what the most annoying thing about this is? Not him using unsafe moves all the time and getting punished after the oponent blocks them. Not his inability to punish the oponent on block except with a single jab or forward. If you can't combo just throw them or even FA if you have enough time to charge it. Not him picking Dan so he can blame his loss on the character (and probably toot his own horn if he can actually win with Dan). Not him blaming the match up every single time. Not him spamming the same move, whiffing every time and continuing to spam it anyway. Not him selecting Evil Ryu's Ultra 2 after saying he doesn't know what the input is... Twice. Not him throwing a tantrum when he's close to getting perfected and/or just giving up and letting the oponent win (probably thinking "Yeah I let you win!!!") Not him talking utter nonsence claiming he couldn't do this move, he couldn't do that move. He says he can't even standing block... That means he can't hold Back. That's literally only one button dude... Not him failing to understand what "pressure means" when he clearly knows enough about fighting games that he should know what "block stun" is. Not him complaining about lag when none can be seen. Not him saying the oponent is good when they look like they're about to lose (meaning "See, that guy's good and I beat him, so I'm really good.") or repeating the oponent sucks when they're kicking his ass (which should mean "If someone who sucks beats me I must be complete garbage") or when he fights a Rank B player saying "Oh this guy is really good" as if DSP losing against a rank B means he's not that terrible in the face of every single loss before and after that. I'm not a SF player, but I've played a lot of fighting games, and DSP has some of the worst option selects I've ever seen. He chooses options that or either unsafe, or have no payoff, he just doesn't seem to know anything he is doing in general. In addition he doesn't seem to use grabs/throws at all. So he is playing rock, paper, scissors, but only uses 2/3 of the options, how can he claim to be a former FGC pro!?

That's a pretty good question. I asked myself the same thing many times while I was working on these two TIHYDPs. Phil probably has no idea what an option select is. I've seen him throw red fireballs with Akuma at opponents that are getting up instead of going for some kind of mixup. He just spams the same crap over and over again expecting people to fall for it. Unfortunately if you want to get some wins you need to be a little bit more creative but this is Phil we're talking about here so I'm probably asking for too much there.

I feel like the worst part of DSP is that he tries to be self aware. If you go to his teespring and look at what's there, the first thing you'll see is a grey hat that says "WOW DUDE." Go down a bit, and you'll see DSP's face if he was a South Park character and the same thing. Next one is a shirt with his logo on it, then a shirt that says "I'M PRESSING BUTTONS," with the inputs forward, down-forward, punch, kick, down-back, kick, back, punch.

Yeah sometimes he does try to be self aware but it's on such rare occasions that it's almost not worth mentioning. My favorite part is just watching him stumble over his own lies over and over again. He's said so much bullshit over the years that he's lost track of it all. Like when he said "oh this is such a big house for two people " then he realizes that he fucked up so he follows that up with " well no not really it's small house ". That's where editing comes in handy...

I could see why you'd save it, dude/lady. It's good shit, and it's got the match of the century, between the 2 biggest man-babies on KZbin, competing to see who's the bigger, buggier man-baby. Yeah that's the easiest way to find out which one is Phil. In the first one I put in the matches were Phil was using a specific character in a row. For the sequel I wanted it to be a little bit more random to keep it a little bit more interesting. I used for example Phil getting destroyed by a Zangief followed by his Zangief getting destroyed by El Fuerte. So it's a sort of good idea/bad idea in a way.

Thank you I really appreciate it. I watched it again just now and man I wish I could do all those crazy combos and setups with Chun-Li in SF5. Her insta stomp just isn't the same in SF5, she has no hazanshu and she only has one extremely slow overhead in SF5. I still use her in SF5 but her USF4 version is my favorite Chun-Li.

Yeah and he could have actually won if he would have played it a little bit more patiently. At 21:37 he should have gone for a combo that ended with scissor kicks so he could push Phil into the corner and go from there. Then there would have been one more round to go but I'm pretty sure this guy could have taken Phil if he played just a little bit more patiently.
