100% improvement. Was really reticent about installing mods, but *everything* was better. A battle with a two-stage Hive Tyrant Boss, and a Redemptor Dreadnought crashes down off the ledge makes it feel like a proper battle between powerful foes.

@calandaly once you have all the files downloaded, the order that consistently works for me with the paste->overwrite is: main mod file -> required cosmetics file -> online fix -> launch from the patched start_protected_game

This mod alone makes me want to switch to PC gaming. It's sad that there are mods out there that vastly improve the gameplay and we're stuck without. Plus all the great costmeics. We are waiting until December to get a few Dark Angels pieces.. then gotta wait months more for anything else.

Pretty cool. I like mods but Im glad they limited it to private lobbies. That way if I want to get sweaty on Lethal I dont have some dude one-shotting everything or spawning in ol' Jim I was starting to wonder what I will do when I level my last 2 classes to 25 so maybe Ill try it out

been a gamer since the 80s and a modder since the late 90s, and I dont think there's ever been so clear an answer to the question devs ask of everything they make: "what do the players want from this game?" Astartes overhaul. That's what we want from space marine 2. We understand the reasoning behind why it wasn't this way out of the box, we just disagree.

I tried this mod and enjoyed it so much more than vanilla, only thing stopping me from playing it is the fact that weps aren't relic tier in the mod by default, so i went back to vanilla to keep grinding weapons. If there was a mod I could tack on to make all the weapons relic tier temporarily, just while im playing the mod and seperate from my base game progression, that would be quite lovely.

@@cheapwine3365 The online fix lets you run things in private lobbies, which still contributes to overall progression. That's how I leveled the bolt carbine for the video last week before patching back to vanilla for testing/recording. Didn't make sense to strugglebus harder than necessary, y'know?

​@@baldsquidgaming Loved the video about the Mod, and looking foward to install it, but I have 1 question: - The progress for the weapons are all unlocked to the relic level or the Mod gets the actual level from the original version? For example, if I have the heavy bolter with 0 XP on the original, I install the Mod and upgrade it playing with the Mod only, I do maintain the level when I get back to the original.

@wolfgang3838 they’re based on what you have unlocked already. I leveled the carbine SMG for the video earlier this week with the mod installed, and progress carried over to base when I did the final testing and recording.

It is challenging on lethal you have to pay attention but it is much easier than vanilla, your AI help much more

It’s swingy based on if you play well. If you’re on point mechanically you definitely get that power fantasy. Still just as lethal in terms of incoming damage though 😉

I’m genuinely happy that this mod isn’t allowed on console. It actually just hurts to see it exist. Weapons should stay restricted to classes. This mod is definitely heresy in quite a few ways. I just wish to one day stop seeing people praise this mod

@brohammer10 Legitimately, I'm curious about something, zero shade implied. This doesn't work in public lobbies, so it quite literally cannot impact you. Why get emotionally invested in / judgmental about how other people choose to play a game on their own or with friends? From the outside, it seems like that could just contribute to being salty more often than is necessary?

I was just putting my own opinion out there. I only got emotionally invested because I think playing games the way they are supposed to be played is the right way, though I do know that not everyone agrees with my way of thinking and that’s fine! I just get a little too vocal about it.

@brohammer10 Hey, mad props for the self-awareness and being chill about my question. Many people would take that as a critique of their character when that's not the case. I think if it worked in pubs and could be inflicted on people without their agreement, we'd be on much more similar pages about it. Speaking purely for myself, I've spent far too many years railing on about the "correct" way to play games even when it didn't impact me, and I realized it just kept me angry when I didn't need to be, and got in the way of having fun. I kinda look at the mod like houserules on tabletop: Ork players in my play group still use the ancient gorkamorka rule for transports even though it doesn't exist currently and is kinda imbalanced, just because it's funny to see a pile of boyz on vehicles and watch several inevitably die when they fall off moving the model. We wouldn't play like that in public events, but it adds spice to games with friends.

I’ve spent years also just caring too much about the “correct” way to play as well, I find it a bit difficult in my case to stop being like that but regardless, I still try. I may not play the tabletop game (or really even understand it for that matter), but I must say that rule does sound like a lot of fun! Seems like it could lead to some funny moments as well!

Well, in my experience, I already have like 53 hours into the game, and most things except for lethal dif are just unlocked by winning missions. So I just don't feel the need to punish myself with self-imposed challenges, I'd much rather try out the mod because it adds so many things I've been asking for. I might disable it from time to time to play PvP though.

New operations and enemy randomizers are certainly welcome and sound cool but blanket buff everything in the game? Unbalanced autoplasma? Automatic secondaries? Tac weapons on snipers? Naah man, not my idea of "fun" Bolters sure need a buff but class balance exists for a reason So tired of ppl advocating for constant buffs and removal of restrictions which are placed in the games like this for a reason
