As for its actual settings for people with vision and hearing issues the only one even slighty commendable above other games is its colorblind options but even then that is beginning to become an industry standard, TLOU2 did it far better and even Overwatch 2 has colorblind settings. So no i dont think it is especially deserving of the accessibility award.

@@BodaciousDerb I searched it up and what you’ve described seems to be very reductive, stuff like being able bypass quick time events might be trivial to you and perceived as making the game easy for game journalists but I know someone who wouldn’t be able to play the game if that wasn’t an option because of nerve damage in their hands. Even then there is still my point that the category has importance which the OP doesn’t seem to get. I don’t think it is a good game but what mainstream title did it better? Astro bot is in my mind the same sort of game as many of the Mario games. Very tied to a brand, kid friendly and made for a specific platform. It just happens that Astro bot also had great mechanics like many of the Mario games but it was also super optimized for the ps5 so it ran super smooth as they casually had a million particles and a dozen enemies all at once

Ok but Stellar Blade is actually really good. The combat is very similar to that of Sekiro's so I feel like Zanny would legitimately enjoy the game. Plus there's a lot of customization that look legitimately good besides the obvious horny options. tbh I was kind of burnt out on AAA games so I tried Balatro and it came in clutch to save my brain from rotting away. I had just played Veilguard and boy, the dialogue writing in that game seems like a parody. It makes CoD Vanguard look like Shakespeare. Like it's written specifically for the player to cringe and make fun of. Balatro is an indie game that knows exactly what it wants to be, no bull. The music and the art is just good vibes. Veilguard was like what would happen if Disney made a Lord of the Rings movie.

Especially when Fifa can make a small update, call it a new game and win Sports Game of the Year. If Fromsoft would've made another soulslike, it would've probably have roughly the same amount of new content (aside from some new gameplay mechanics). And like the Game Awards said, they will only nominate DLC if it has an amount of content that makes it comparable to a full game. And SOTE is. Fromsoft could've easily just called this Eldenring 2 or Eldenring: Shadow of the Erdtree (Spinoff), made you port your account data to it and win/get nominated. Or they could've actually made a new game with the amount of work that went into this. I think that it's more important to talk about the best piece of new content than stick by this weird rule of just having actual games. But I think that the Game Awards should make a "Best non-sequel" category for games that aren't sequels and that aren't really similar to what the studio has done before. So a new fromsoft game/DLC couldn't be nominated except if it has as much innovation as something like Sekiro.

Firstly Blood and wine won but not in the major categories, heck blood and wine along with the old hunters and half life 2 episode 2 are the dlcs that actually deserve a nomination such as this one if want to play this crazy game, not shadow of the erdtree, but even them couldn't get more than 2 or 3 nominations in minor categories. This dlc is just an insult to everything I just mentioned getting major nominations, not just one ; and this dlc has so many flaws that it shouldn't even be considered for these, beyond the ones of "best dlc" or "best ongoing game or support from the community". I'll start with saying, I agree with everyone. There should be a standalone dlc category. There's also precedence with dlcs being nominated for past game awards.. But do all that next year. Elden sweep baby! Let's go! They need to restructure and properly nail down what each of the categories actually stand for. Some of the games just don't belong in certain categories, silent hill in action/adventure when wukong and stellar blade is literally that.

Yes, any game available for public consumption by the deadline is eligible for potential nomination. Even this year in indie title Manor Lords is still an EA game with much less purchases and lower review score then Palworld. Mostly positive Manor Lords vs Very positive Palworld with vastly more players; which belongs in the catagory?

The thing about helldivers is not enough updates or lackluster ones, no major changes for missions or extra content, the SONY debacle, the devs working against the players by nerfing fun playstyles, it takes months to fix major bugs for weapons and stratagems, and whenever they have an update no one likes it because the devs don’t know what the players want, either that or they’re massive trolls.
