Just for everyone’s info, you need at least 8 magical healing for the first breakpoint of Torture Mastery scaling. With vampirism equipped. Not sure about further breakpoints, as 8 is already a decent investment if you’re on a tight budget.

I bought the game shortly after they added the Warlock. My first wipe, I mained Fighter; second wipe was Rogue; this one, we're all in on Warlock, baby. It's been a blast. Though I typically run Curse of Pain, Power of Sacrifice, Flame Walker, Bolt of Darkness, and Hellfire. I do occasionally run Hydra, just because it's so useful for zoning and distractions.

Hydra is best if you have lifedrain or a good amount of magical healing but hellfire is always nice for bossing too. So many good spells to choose from

Love videos like this, only thing i wish is that you get to lvl 20 and then start running some highroller for a few games, or maybe lvl 1 warlock is a bit hard but since you werent really taking any gear, mainly trinkets for money go into the ice abyss, you can make some bank there, the spiders and wendigos gives some giga loot even in normals

Very good video, thank you for your help. A lot of content creator recommend goblin cave for first runs but i struggle way less on ice cavern. You got very lucky with the build you found!! That magical healing roll on the chest piece is insane for beginner warlock. Would you recommend staying under 25 gear score for easier runs or just keep going with the gear you find along the way ?

I'm really new to the game how is he able to heal on his own hydra? Is that intented? How does it work? What is the combo to do it

It is intended, torture mastery makes curse of pain and power of sacrifice heal off of everything you hit, Hydra is counted as a non-hostile mob. Lifedrain also works on hydra and is the alternate way to play caster warlock

i heard there were some nerfs to the class, is this still viable? i see most people doing the demon thing but its all "budget 10000 gold" kits. I'm a single dad of 3 so i can only play about 15 or 20 hours a week and i havent found a build strong enough to consistency run HR for money so i really cant afford kits worth more than 2 or 300 gold right now because ill be dying a lot. thanks

Totally understandable man I just had my first! Life changer lol. I’ve been having a lot of success just running the standard torture mastery build. Despite the nerfs it still seems to work fine. As far as your kit goes, right now I wouldnt even worry about building any magical healing. Just build knowledge up to 24 and however much will and MS you can into your budget. So this is a nitpick, but at like 1:15 or so you say you don't take the hat for move speed. I have to say this decision is just plain wrong and I can explain why: the hat is -2 move speed (.7% movement speed, entirely intangible difference.) The 2 magic power on the hat is equal to 4% increased spell damage, 5% headshot prot and 2.8% phys reduction. The tradeoff here is clearly favoring taking the hat. Edit: the hat offered 1 magic power at this point, which would equal 2% spell bonuses. It now does 2 after an update, making it 4%.

So curse mastery just extends the same dmg over a longer period, which heals better but slows your ttk. I just prefer higher dmg from the will malice gives

Ive seen people do really well with it, but my personal preference is just to run normal caster. KazarenTv has a good platelock video where he uses demon form very well if you’re interested in that!

It's just me or now it's really harder to level up? I am f2p and before the patch I could leveled up 3 or 2 levels per game with the new classes I was making and deleting, now I only level up 1 per game (if I kill A LOT)
