What's the issue with wearing a beanie? It won't hurt your ability to locate sound sources... It certainly will block some frequencies more than others, making for an unbalanced sound, but it should a be fairly small difference and it would not hurt your ability to locate sound sources...

That depends on the hight to the ceeling and what material it's made of. And the angle of the speakers of course.. But in general systems like this are not close to the real deal. I would rather have a pretty decent real 5.1 setup or even a pretty great 2.0 or 2.1/2.2 setup than this.

I have this etup at home you need to fine tune it a bit using the Vizio smart link app and enables the upward firing speakers on both the sound bar and the satellite speakers they make a world of difference also you can adjust the perfect distance depending on where you sit in the room and location of the speakers, Dolby ATMOS is an amazing thing, these speakers have changed my life and how I consume my audio and video in real life and they are properly loud, that bass speaker is top kek overall very good audio quality with all the Dolby stuff superb machine.

One thing I've found about this soundbar is that if you don't turn the subwoofer all the way down, it'll drown out everything else. Things didn't start getting better until I did that and fiddled with settings from the app. But now that I have it dialed in to sound good among a wide spectrum of content.... it's awesome. But the Atmos is no big deal really. Once in a while a sound will come out of those upfiring speakers. But not as often as you'd think. Bouncing off the ceiling? I doubt it. But honestly I don't care that much about it because it does sound great. And theres a nice volume leveling feature if you don't like the sometimes massive disparity between dialogue and action.

Where can you find Dolby Atmos content that you can stream? I have a receiver that can support it, but I haven't bothered to hook up the atmos speakers, I don't have any content that will use it. Is it only through blu-ray? I have both a htpc and a Google Chromecast with Google TV dongle.

Given the size of modern TV speakers any bigger speaker is better, as the last two TV that I bought (one for me , one for my father) both had great screens but very poor and tinny speakers. So for my father I used a set of 3.1 creative P380 pc speakers, he is a bit deaf but said wow to the much better sound, I used a creative MF7900 7.1 system, which whilst not set at stupidly high volumes give a MUCH FULLER SOUND and don't have to be set as high as the tinny TV speakers. So if you are getting a thin TV get a sound bar or surround sound system, your ears will love it.

Just curious, did you set Xbox Dolby Atmos settings to game mode? There's an app on the Xbox One X, figured Series X handles it the same. I have a headset with Atmos, changing between movie/music/game really does make an audible difference.

I love how my reciever has 5 different formats but its like "Dolby digital, please. Thank you." In case anyone's wondering, they are; Stereo\analog (that's an easy one xD) ACS 5.1 by SRS, dolby digital pro logic II, dts digital surround, that wierd fake 4.1 or 3.1 surround. And I'm sure it has another but I refuse to go click a button like 6 times on my reciever to find out that I am wrong xD oh the 80\90's when choices were limitless it seams. (Idk, I wasn't there)
