Steve Perry is IMHO the GREATEST vocalist of all time!! His Range and control along with his vocal acrobatics is unmatched! No autotune no vocal training, just raw God given talent!! He is even better live!!! Watch Mother Father and Who’s cryin now live from Houston 1981

Yes! Totally agree, definitely watch “mother father“ live in Houston 1981. There is not one bad song from journey. I am actually going to see them Saturday night, they are still touring. There are only two original members. Neal Schon is a founding member and the keyboardist, Jonathan Cain joined in 1980. Journey has been around since about 1975. Steve Perry joined the band in 1978. The earlier albums are great as well. My favorite album is ‘Evolution’, 1979

Live is even better than studio versions showcasing Steve Perry’s range and the bands musicianship. A MUST DO !!!!!! Go down the rabbit hole, it will increase your viewership, guaranteed !!!

The 80s was the most transitional decade in music, not just in melding the 60s and 70s with new technology and a new sound but in the formats available to the listener. Higher quality home and car stereo equipment, cassette into CDs, cable TV with MTV was a game changer. All providing a platform allowing for more diversity in the artists and genres available to more people. This was also a time when musicians actually played instruments, singers sang and relied on their ability, not computers or things like auto tune. There is a mini documentary call "The 80s, the decade that made us" you may find interesting (they also have the 60s,70s,90s,2000s) It's great to see people opening themselves up to a wider variety of music.

Welcome to becoming a Journey fan. The old singer is Steve Perry who was Amazing. I was 19 when they did this one. They also did Faithfully and Open Arms if you ever need a good slow one. The band still tours today with a young singer from the Philippines, Arnel Pineda. He is pretty good but is not Steve Perry. Another good song is O Sherry by Steve Perry. He was also on the Christmas Song for USA for Africa, We Are the World. Enjoyed this. Thanks.

With the mid 70s 80 and 90s music, you’re standing at the edge of a deep music hole that will that will take you hundreds of songs to ever even see the light of day, again. The hole is DEEEEPPPPP! Journey, Hall and Oates, Chicago, Air Supply, Toto, Boston, BeeGees will blow your mind. BeeGees have a 1,000 song catalog and a dozens songs in the top 100 of all time. They wrote for many other artists and are probably one of the most well rounded groups in existence. “How Deep is your Love” is one of the BeeGees most requested and reacted to songs. Because it just keeps blowing peoples minds.

Because most bands are fabricated by music businesses. Back in the day all these guys started in their garage and had to make their own music and write their own songs. Now groups are generally put together and given songs to sing. Not all but a lot of them. These older bands still have soul because they are singing what they lived. You feel it. Try Home Sweet Home by Montly Crue or Big City Nights by Scorpions.

People rely on computer generated music rather than creating the muisic vocally and instrumentally themselves now. Back then, their own personalities and skills defined the music. The best, collector albums from back then are from live concert performances. Fans actually would follow groups to concerts throughout the country. If I remember correctly, this music video was among the first aired on the debut of MTV. MTV created an environment of artistic mastery to be aired/debuted and make the top 100 video countdown. In pther words, tou had to be REAL.

True. The industry today is focused more on single digital downloads for pop radio vs. actual investment in artistry abd musicianship. The internet turned thr industry on its head as well as tgr loss of retail record stores. I worked in promotions and fair ASCAP in the 80s and lot of tge takebt came put of 7os and 6os into the 80s as old school artists who could not fake vocals or talent. You had to Play and sing minus tweaks and auti tuner. In addition, many major labels were going defunct or meeging in the 80s and then 90s and many talent executives responsible for assisting and rearing artists and A & R departments stopped. Artists other than Tatlir Swift I guess today get a lot of promotion for new recordings. Older artists like Joe Perry if Aerismith will tell you it makes no sense really for older artists like themselves to release bew material. No more real support and sales like before in the way the business now works.

Music back in the day was different and used more creative juice then today. Most bands I listen that are coming out mostly use the same style and sound of what the legends use and thinking they can be just as great. The bands that are good make there sound more unique or style that has a different taste. I hope new bands learn from the past and not try to copy.

Hello NatReacts, here's two more artists performing together to check out, if interested. "Tennessee Whiskey/Drink You Away - Chris Stapleton & Justin Timberlake (CMA 2015)" (by the channel: Justin Timberlake Brasil) --The song "Drink You Away" by Justin Timberlake is from his fourth studio album called "The 20/20 Experience" released in 2013. It's a soulful tune that blends elements of pop and country. As for "Tennessee Whiskey" it's originally a country song written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. But Chris Stapleton covered it and performed it as a medley with "Drink You Away" during the "CMA" awards in 2015. Nice reactionpeace out~
