In the 80's, music was about partying hard, having fun, and being cool with each other....In the 90's, everyone got pi**ed off, and music has been on a down-slide every since.
@rogsolaris7411 Жыл бұрын
I've never heard that stated so succinctly. I couldn't agree more. I'm in 80's kid, and I still love that era more than almost anything. I can't remember anything from the 90's because I was still listening to 80's and classic rock. Once Nirvana came around (they're great, but...) I started to tune out completely. But you're right. All of the sudden it was all angst, anger, discord, centered around mediocre, unimpressive music.

"It's her voice that keeps on haunting me" has got to be one of the most heartwrenching lines ever written. All of the band members shined on this song, but Neil made his guitar cry making it an even sadder song. Great reaction Liz! This video exemplifies just how huge Journey had become by this time as they were playing in football stadiums in front of tens of thousands of people a night.

@@lizziethegangsterhippie9291 Journey's rabbit hole is deep! From the obvious ballads like Open Arms, Faithfully, and When You Love A Woman to lesser-known gems like Suzanne, The Eyes Of A Woman, Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, and Still She Cries, Journey connects with so many people through their music. Steve Perry has an awesome solo ballad called Foolish Heart that is a beautiful song. When you're ready, Toto also has a deep library of songs: ballads, rockers, and even a nice instrumental with Jazz legend Miles Davis! Keep up the great reactions Lizzie! ❄⛷🏂😎

Seeing Steve and journey live for all yours was an experience. One thing to watch a video of hear them on a record but a totally amazing and surreal thing to hear Steve sound better than a recording and the musicianship of all live. My favorites still. Few have voices that memorize you and sound that good live vs. just to a recording. As Steve says journey was five unique, distinct impeccable musicians.

I knew you were going to love this song but woah, you LOVED it-yeah!! So wonderful Lizzie! One of their most sublime, flowing and, of course, haunting songs. As you mentioned everyone added so much to it, Steve's astounding vocals always blow my mind on this! And Neal Schon's melodic lead playing soars and so very expressive. Steve Smith on drums adds that pretty groove, he was a master at his craft, what cymbal work. They take you to a place that is very special for sure. Since you love Journey so much have you ever heard "Be Good To Yourself"? It's such a great "feel good" tune, if I'm down it never fails to lift me up. Great vocals as usual and Schon plays some incredible guitar. I heartily recommend it! Wishing you well and I really enjoy seeing you get lost in the music.
