Was catching plenty fish on plain jig head 50 years ago...and have a buddy thay still uses a plain lead head on his plastics. Catches as many as i do with painted heads and eyes. I think its a confidence thing...

I like to start with two pinks down low kinda looks like a pink back white belly and i paint my heads the same so if i do chenille body i can run same pink wrap and white belly. put lavender kristal in between.

I have fished two jigs of a certain color, or a buddy and I both fishing the same color jig, i have found yellow or gold eyes will at times out fish the same jig with other color eyes. That is the natural eye color of shad. Thats followed by silver, then red eyes. I know guys like to put eyes on a jig that accents the colors of the jig…..not particularly a fan of that. But, there are times when jigs without eyes catches just as many fish……so, what do I know?????????
