Actually this is not the season for tourists. Even natives can't tolerate the temperature. This year temperature is all time high in Kerala. August to January is the best time to visit.

India is not for beginners, but if you do decide to visit, let me tell you, have zero expectations, because India is known for it's people and culture, not it's infrastructure or cleanliness, most people are friendly towards foreigners, but if you are alone or just two of you and one of you are a women, then never camp in unknown regions in india, always find out in advance if it's safe to camp there or not. And always try to stay in a hostel or hotel at best.

There is a lane going from Red Fort and terminating in Fatehpuri Masjid. That lane has a Jain Temple, Durga Temple, Sheeshganj Gurudwara, Baptist Church and terminates in a Mosque. Then there are amazing restaurants and shops there. However, that lane has population density of 40,000 people per square km so it is crowded, congested and noisy. It is the 3rd most densly populated region in the world. If you are interested in art, architecture, culture and food you will like that place. However, I don't think it is a great vacation destination. If you want a warm vacation in India you should visit Kerala: Munnar, Thekkady, Kochi, Alleppey and Varkala. If you want cold vacation then you should visit Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. North East India is an underated gem of India with Sikkim, Meghalaya and Ziro valley in Arunachal Pradesh.
