That guitar is beautiful. And I could not agree more about the katana go. I bought one just for practicing at night so my neighbors don’t hate me, but it sounds so good that I find myself using it a lot more frequently than I had planned.

I picked one of these up for home practice. I run the headphone out to a tiny Muzen OTR speaker and it works great for me. Great sounds at very low volume.

Very cool. 😎 Can you better explain all of the cables you are using and how everything is connected. 🤔

Has anyone tried to pair it other bluetooth pedals?, like the IK Multimedia Blueboard, that would be great as it has 4 switches and 2 expression pedal inputs

Hi i put my Go headphone input through my Yamaha THR II through the Aux input or the Flat channel. You can also have it through the clean channel with no cabinet simulation!

I used to rehearse with the Fender Mustang Micro... I connected a couple of pedals (distortion and reverb) and connect the Mustang to a DI Box going to the PA. It worked well, is just that the volume control of my Mustang Micro is a little too senstive, making it hard to adjust a good volume... But once you got it it was good to good.

It would make a brilliant BOSS compact pedal.

John - I agree workflow is a huge part of the decision between units. For me, as you know, from our back and forth and your recent response video on the Katana Go vs Pod Express, I play weekly on the worship team at church and only a few times per year in other venues. Most recently in a country band (that was a trip for me - but fun). I also haven't found my "home base" quite yet. So at the moment I am leaning towards the FM3. But, you never know where I will be next week or even tomorrow! Love your tones and artistry! I am definitely a "daily driver" on this channel!! - Joe Miller

I would be interested in a comparison between the Katana Go and the Boss GT-1 in terms of capabilities and sounds.

I purchased the pod express BUT via Sweetwater… so I may return it and try the Katana Go with a floor controller approach. This could be my super light weight solution. Trying to wait to see what other smaller form factor solutions hit this year for a more full featured solution to replace the headrush prime. Thanks so much John for your follow up and suggestions! - Joe Miller

Okay so the idea of sticking one of these amp plug things in the loop of a helix or HX stomp has to be the biggest “why the hell have I never thought of that” moments I’ve had since hearing Glenn Fricker suggest taking your laptop to your car and using its’ aux input to finish your mixes in the car. I’m a bassist that tends to play in 3-piece bands so what I do is use Helix/HX stuff to split my bass signal, pitch one path up an octave and then run the octave through an amp simulator that I can adjust independently but the DSP hit I take on the pitch block means I can only use the barest, often worst-sounding amp blocks in the library and often not have the opportunity to add any effects to that path after the fact. You may have just completely solved that issue for me.
@AlecBourneMidiMadScientist7 ай бұрын
This will work incredibly well. I've had it connected and MIDI'd together and it is fairly incredible, you've just doubled the number of blocks in the HXStomp if you think about it and the size is incredible. Micro rig with a whole heap of DSP power

You can rock the Katana Go with the Boss FS-1-WL wireless footswitch and the Boss EV-1-WL wireless expression pedal. However, you can only connect one wirelessly at a time. The easy solution is to wire the expression pedal to the foot switch.

It’s discontinued indefinitely now. wtf Boss. They said severe material shortage prohibited continued production. Sweetwater lists as no longer available. If you want one, try to find before they are all gone. Of course we will probably left high and dry for updates and tone exchange support.
@trailingupwards5 ай бұрын
Nah, they updated it after discoing it. They probably discontinued it because it cannibalizes all their other modeling amps. I got one from Guitar Center before they sold out. It is so much fucking bang for the buck.

I have a Radial Stage Bug DI box designed for use with laptops with stereo 3.5mm jack socket and I've been intending to try it out with the Katana Go for a while.

It should be fine. I've gigged with the NUX Mighty Plug Pro and it's worked surprisingly well.

Awesome. I have the MP-3 and like it a lot. I do fancy the Katana Go though, because I prefer the Boss user interface, even though the NuX has pretty much the same capabilities. Also, I find some of the tones on the MP-3 sound a bit "warbly" although, recently, I've experienced it on other systems too, and it might just be the reverb.
@tonya41577 ай бұрын
I returned the Go and kept the Mighty Plug Pro. Neither are perfect but I liked the sound of it better. A $35 M-VAVE pedal will do everything these Boss pedals will. I like being able to experiment with IRs too. I don't know if you're familiar with the FX Floorboard software but there is supposed to be a version for the Go released the end of May. I am curious about what it will offer. Maybe I'll try the Go again in the future.

Honestly - if you used a Wireless unit, put the receiver out of the way by the PA with the Katana Go coming out of that - you're not moving around so the weaker 3.5mm connection is less of a problem. Wireless guitar and wireless pedals would be a super small, clean set-up.

I have a question John, would the Katana Go work with other MIDI over bluetooth solutions like the M-Vave Chocolate, an iRig Blueboard or a normal MIDI footswitch connected to a WIDI Jack?
@Newmusicreview7 ай бұрын
I’d be a bit wary of being at the mercy of Bluetooth reliability…seems like a disaster waiting to happen 😮

The moment I got the boss go …. and realised the Bluetooth streaming and play along was a significantly better experience than the FENDER TMP .. after emailing fender and asking why the Bluetooth playback was heavily panned to the left on all headphones ... Could they fix it in an update and getting no response .. ..

Katana Go is a fantastic way to play an electric guitar ,no doubt ! But there is absolutely less information on the Headphone that nicely works with Katana Go .Yes there are plethora of Headphones that are capable to listen to the Katana Go but I think it's better to get information on the few headphones ( Budget to the premium ) which would give justice to the Katana Go .

'HeyWorshipLeader' helped me hugely to make the most from my Pod Go. Not only is he really responsive in the comments to questions, he also provides hints and fixes. He's brilliant. I'd love to see a hook-up stream between HWL and John coz I'm totally unfamiliar with what Worship Music actually sounds like and how John might tweak a live set or rig. I liked this vid today muchly. I'd like to see something similar with a pub band musician. Sting and Knofler started in pub bands, Taylor Swift started in Worship Music I think?

Mooer Prime P1 and P2 come with bluetooth foot switch with 8 presets. Now More have S1 which is foot switch with the Prime P1 inside it so you only have a foot switch!!! I think Katana is better sounds than Mooer, all Mooer has backing tracks or drum beats. NUX mighty plug does the same 😄😄😄
