Ironically, I got into KPop because of a 5 girl KRock group, Rolling Quartz. Their drummer, Yeong Eun did a drum cover of a song called Lovesick Girls. I love watching her play and so I watched it multiple times. The song was too catchy. I didn’t want to do a KZbin search because I knew it was KPop. I didn’t want to break that seal. But those 4 voices were too alluring. I needed to see what these girls looked like. I relented. Watched this MV a dozen times back to back. And that was it. February 2021. I wound up watching everything BlackPink related for 8 plus hours. And watching Light Up The Sky the following night solidified my love for them. My world is a better place because of these girls.

I love this song and mv. Also if you want to see Jennies original nurse scene you can check out other reactors reaction to it that came out the same day as the mv. When you see the solo mv you will see how the written on car is a call back to her mv. Jennie with bangs hits me different and Jisoo looks ethereal in this mv. Run Jisoo Run!! 🤣 Rose needs an Oscar for her performance in this. The behind the scenes of Lisa trying to sledge hammer he car is too adorable you gotta check it out!!! You HAVE to see the dance performance of this song!! Jisoo's note at the end of the bridge though 😍😍😍

I definitely want to see nurse Jennie hehe! This was truly the best acting I've seen from them, and Rose was captivating especially in that first pre chorus and ESPECIALLY the bridge!
@jamescurfman32842 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the behind-the-scenes video really is cool! Before seeing that video, I really thought Lisa was stronger than that. It actually shocked me when she found that sledge hammer to be too heavy for her to handle it properly. I thought she was THE ATHLETE of the group... I guess she put way more effort into flexibility than into sheer muscular strength. :)

So here's my take on Lovesick Girls hehe. Jennie, Lisa and Rosé show 3 types of breakups. Jennie's one is the messy breakup. Relationship gone wrong and ends on such a bad note that she goes mad. Like in the rap scene she's in a nursing room and she's with a teddy bear. Here's is the breakup that leaves you on a bad mental area where you go numb. Lisa's breakup is the gradual one where you lose interest, lose touch, lose connection slowly and yet you don't want to breakup because change is scary. The lines she says in her first verse that "we can't end it even if it's over" because the relationship is familiar and you don't want to leave it because you don't know what awaits you. But that breakup makes them repel relationships and want to be only alone. Rosé's breakup is the saddest. Where a person is so emotionally invested that breakup breaks them apart so bad they can't repair. They drown in grief (black ink). They slide into self destruction. Like we see in the bathtub scene and even in the second pre chorus. It was a healthy relationship yet they breakup and she cannot take it. There's also another theory that says that Jisoo isn't talking about romantic relationships. In the MV jisoo is the only one who doesn't have a scene with a guy. So the theory says that Jennie, Lisa, Rosé are her friends and Jisoo is trying to save them from their grief. Because in her scene she talks about running out of time and how anxious she is. Which can be pertained to her being worried for them.

u're reeeaally sharp, even with the tattoo symbolism; such a small detail but somehow it actually sums it up; painful but also beautiful ✨ they also play on the concept as: Lovesick = being so in love it makes u sick (blind) 😍🤤💕 Love-sick = sick of love 🤮💀😭 which also symbolizes the contrasting of feelings love and hate, pain and happiness ✨

Fun fact: there's a video called "Why everyone wants main rapper Jennie to comeback" coz she in 2019 didnt had rap parts BUT, just in Lovesick Girls (2020) she came back finally but... a controversial thing happened in her rap :( , originally her rap part she was wearing a nurse outfit(in her scene she is in a psychotherapist and she was the nurse AND the patient at the same time) but this made the Korean nurses angry or something, saying she was sexualising the nurses and they.... They removed her nurse part, its funny coz A LOT of other kpop artist did nurse scenes and no one gave a sh, just when Jennie does they cared, btw and she did a savage thing, in their Pretty savage performace on MBC she wore a pants saying "Canceled" mocking the ppl LMAO, the history behind this pants XD if u wanna see just search "Jennie nurse scene in Lovesick girls" or 'Jennie deleted scene lobesickgirls" u will find the deleted scene, also in her rap "Didnt wanna be a princess I'm pricless" relates to the "YG princess scandal" and hate scandals that happened to her, I'll talk about this later, btw now a Good fun fact: JISOO AND JENNIE WROTE THE LYRICS this is the title of their The Album, Im suprised u didnt hear this, I REALLY thought u did lol, also Rosé was crying in bathtub, the SAME BATHTUB APPEARD IN HER "GONE MV", also there's a crazy theory about the MV story, where The girls k1lled themselves and Jisoo was Running to help them but it was too late.. its a creepy theory, but it kinda makes sense, if im not mistaken (I dont remember the theory) Jennie d1ed in a car accident, Rosé drowned herself im a bathtub, Lisa jumped off a building, and Jisoo in the end drowned? Maybe I wrote everything so mess up lol Another fun fact: that Lisa's hair is her Fav one! (At least was some months ago idk if still her fav one) black outside and blached inside, btw this song is like the 2 sides of them BLACK and PINK together The lyrics are so sad tho, "we were born to be alone but why we still looking for love?"its like we all born to die and we die alone so if we born to be alone why we still looking for love even tho those ppl who were cheated (i dont get like some ppl are cheated or went thru a harsh break up but ends up looking for another love even tho suffered the pain) I can't judge tho I never dated and I wont XD I mean Im the type of person that... u know dont wanna date and Im good alone lol

Had an epiphany just now. It’s obvious that guy is the same boyfriend to Jennie, Lisa and Rosé. You never see him with Jisoo. He might have been with Jisoo first and she wound up running to warn all the other girls about him. Their breakdowns, Jennie flipping out in the car, Lisa smashing his car, Rosé breaking his guitar and splashing the pink walls with black are their reactions after Jisoo showed them the truth about him. In the end they are together in that store. They all share a common bond because of that guy who completely charmed them but was absolutely toxic. He was the one who caused them the most emotional damage but they were able to survive it. Now they struggle with the damage but they are not completely broken. If they were, they wouldn’t care about being in love anymore but they’re still seeking it out. And now they have each other as friends. They can watch out for each other when it comes to toxic relationships going forward. The sun is shining at the end. Shining on their friendship and showing that at least something good came out of their separate (yet connected) ordeals.

It's actually a very sad song and yes u dont feel bored falling in love over and over again even if it hurts. You keep holding on and hope to find the happiness you deserve. Or end up repeating the cycle. Love this song so much. Love Blackpink🌷💝

I really love your theory about this video❤❤. I just want to share a little more "dark" theory I read. So in the video Jennie, Lisa and Rose are with their boyfriend but we never see Jisoo with one, just with a clock with pink sand. It could represent that Jisoo knows that her friends are being hurt with every second they stand with their partners and the pink sand could mean their sanity or their happiness. So then we see Jisoo running through a dark corridor like if she is worried. We see Rose in a tub, Jennie in the hospital and Jisoo in the water with the nothing sing. At the end of the video we see the four of them, happy in the pink car, in a beautiful place. This could mean that Jisoo tried to save them but whe she reached them it was to late and decided to k1ll herself too. At the end, the four reunited in heaven, being at last, happy. Realizing that the only thing that they need is to love themselves and each other. I know it's a little crazy, but I really liked it. 💜💜 Thank you for your hard work

Yes please do the dance practices! This was a great reaction, I never even noticed the license plate before, and I can't tell you how many times I've seen this M/V. Guess I was distracted by the car. I also had never noticed the tattoo's on Jisoo's face (which aren't real I'm certain). I wonder if they held a specific meaning, I don't think it was discussed during their "Making Of" video.
@DGReacts2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm guessing getting tattooed is a pain worth endoring because of the end result, and you keep getting more and more of them despite knowing that it'll hurt, much like a relationship and knowing it could end badly but you keep trying to find that happiness. That's my guess.

I loved your breakdown 😍. Insightful as always. Your eye for detail really shows-you noticed the wrecked license plate and the car with all the writings representing Jennie’s thoughts. But you will also notice that the car was speeding on the wrong side of the road, like signifying they are heading the wrong way and therefore ending up in tragedy (car crashing). Jisoo’s hourglass is broken and the sand is pouring but notice that it is in reverse, like trying to reverse time; also, blue flowers in Korean tradition I believe symbolizes hope. That all said, she is surrounded by blue flowers holding a broken hourglass with the sand pouring in reverse while looking up-a hope that she can go back to a specific time or place. You will also notice that under the Born Alone neon sign, the “Born” alternates with “Die”-this gave birth to a lot of dark theories about this MV (I think someone will mention it in the comments) and also the “Crossroads”. We know that crossroads signify internal conflict in life and also death in folklore. We can interpret this as their struggle to make the right choices, to move on, or death of their former lovesick selves. The use of color in this video is amazing-in Rosé’s scene, the light is warm during their happy moments, but it will be a blue, colder tone when they are fighting-the contrast between the warmth and coldness that love can bring into your life. Plus a shoutout to Blackpink-Rosé was throwing black paint over the pink wall, which can also signify darkness and sadness overpowering the happiness that love can bring. I completely missed that tattoo on Jisoo (and to think I have watched this video over a hundred times and I am still finding little details) and I can totally relate-I have a lot of tattoos and the pain is actually worth it; also, getting tattoos is sort of addicting. Once you had one, you want another, and another, and so on. So it’s like love. This was co-written by Jennie and Jisoo, and co-produced by Jennie. Also, true that all the guys in the video is portrayed by just one guy-he is Løren, a singer and musician under The Black Label, a part of YG Entertainment. He usually collabs with Rosé on her IG lives. 😍🖤💗

Yes, same. I was a little surprised that he did not catch Jisoo's first scene. twitter theory: Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé all committed suicide from how painful their heartbreak was. Jennie died in a car accident, Lisa jumped from the building, and Rosé drowned herself in the tub. Jisoo doesn't have a man in this mv because she represents the love of friendship. Much like her role in real life (as unnie of the group) she takes care of the other girls in the mv protecting them from harm. However, with their suicides she feels like she failed them and is now all alone. The flower field can be 2 things. 1. Jisoo is meant to represent Demeter. Some background info: Demeter is the Greek goddess of harvest and the mother of the goddess Persephone. Persephone's husband (and uncle) had kidnapped her because he fell in love with her. Long story short, Demeter found out and wanted her daughter back so she and Hades came to an agreement that Persephone will live with Hades in the underworld during the last 4 months of the year but return to her mother during the first 8 months of the year. So during the last 4 months of the year when Persephone is with Hades, Demeter grieves for her beloved daughter. Due to her grief she can't perform her duties which is how winter came about. Even though it's now spring and all of the sand in the hourglass has already reached the bottom, Persephone still has not returned. Demeter gets worried and eventually goes to try to find her daughter. Jisoo here is Demeter because she's waiting for the girls to comeback (like Demeter waited for Persephone) but they didn't (like Persephone didn't). 2) It could just be part of Jisoo's grieving process where she imagines heaven to be a field of calming blue flowers. This is her trying to convince herself that they're in a better place now. Then we see Jisoo running. This is her running to the little convenience store/ arcade/diner thing that we see in the next scene. That scene where they're all playing paintball and having a good time is the memory Jisoo is trying to chase. Finally we find Jisoo in a pool of water. She couldn't handle the guilt of not being able to protect her friends and was also heartbroken (again lovesick from friendship). So she died in a pool of rain, not from drowning, but because the sign behind her electrocuted her death in the water when it tipped over. The sign also spells NOTHING showing Jisoo had nothing left. The final FINAL scene in the field is the girls reuniting in a better place.
