Most of the equipment they want to scrap has always undergone updates and modernisation. It might not be state-of-the-art but it is still useful. There is a major war IN EUROPE and we are continuing to shrink out military. I'm gobsmacked! Our military, once revered around the World is now a project for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, which means being best is coming second to being diverse. War is about winning, not who you have in the military. We should be boosting our military greatly right now and filling the ranks with the best peolpe for the job. I have seen what happens in War and believe me, you do not want to come second!

What the media doesn't like to say, is that UKRIANE , unlike Russia, do not fire the rockets on civilians, they fire rockets to the Russian ammunition areas or airfields, because from these areas the Russians fire their rockets at civilians and the infrastructure, but that's ok for them to do that, but its not ok for Ukraine to defend itself with their means.

The cuts are very unfortunate, but the tankers really are the main loss. The T23 is knackered, but the first 2 T26 are in the water being fitted out now, won't be long till the first T31 follows. The LPDs are huge manpower hogs & old. A replacement project is in the offing with cooperation with the Dutch. More but smaller, faster, better armed & lower manned. But realistically, we'll never be doing a contested beach landing ever again. Anti shipping missiles are too big a risk. The tankers are a loss for sure, but both have been laid up for a bit. Hopefully, a NATO ally can take them on. We still have 4 of the much larger Tide class. Watchkeeper has been a farce from the start. Taking a perfectly fine Israeli drone & screwing it is by adding UK spec gear to it. Heads should have rolled for that. Finally the choppers. Big loss but again they're all knackered & should have been replaced by now. Replacement Chinooks are ordered with a competition currently running for the Puma replacement. That, however, could have been done ages ago with a purchase of US blackhawks. British jobs being protected took priority though.
