Thank you. I was born and grew until I was 16 years old on Minski Massiv, which is near Obolon, and I used Minska metro station to get to metro. Obolon is pretty much a new district, all the buildings there are new. These days it has some expensive apartments, because it's so close to the river and the area is indeed very nice. I appreciate how deep you go into all the information, that you do your research, and you learn the words. Keep up the great job. Cheers from Seattle.

13:35 Kyjevъ was founded circa 440 AD, about six centuries before the first Varangians started to serve the Ruthenian kings and Byzantine emperors. There was no such country as «Kievan Rus», it was called simply Rusь in Slovenic, Rosia in Greek, Russia or Ruthenia in Latin. Should not be mistaken with Muscovy that emerged in the 16th century and appropriated its current false name in the 18th century.

Didn’t realize there are still refugees arriving in our city which can be prohibitively expensive for new arrivals. Lots of my colleagues arrived from Ukraine especially Odessa back in 1994. I was a student in Ukraine back in 1993 and thought it might be a good time for a fall visit. Coach Sergii from La Jolla just started a trip back to Ukraine after winning 200 breaststroke at masters meet in Mission Viejo.

Before the arrival of the Vikings, Kyiv already existed as a trading post and a union of protected settlements on numerous hills, this is the land of the Slavs, Kyiv was once part of the Great Scythia and even part of the Kingdom of Hermanarich - one of the Gothic Kings of antiquity, when his people migrated to the territory of modern Ukraine and founded their Kingdom here, until the Huns began to arrive in Europe.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and showing the life of my city and neighbourhood during the war. Living in Obolon in these difficult times is a very special experience because many drones fly into the city over the Dnipro River, which makes them harder to detect. So the people in my neighbourhood see the Star Wars almost every night. Regarding the situation you described at the beginning of the video, it is worth noting the contrast between the reaction of the indigenous people to iranian drones and ballistic missiles. When the alarm is raised over drones, most people stay in bed, trusting that our defenders can handle the situation. But when a ballistic missile is detected, everyone looks for safer places. As for the church you mentioned - the Holy Protection Church - unfortunately, even religious institutions can get entangled in political and legal complexities. It is a matter of concern that there are still agents from russia operating there because of religious and legal conflicts. Ukrainians are now also fighting to ensure that such ‘ministers of the church’ should join the Ukrainian Church and renounce the dung country of russia, or leave our country. Thank you again for your video! Be healthy. Glory to Ukraine!

I live out of Ukraine for many years and this video really did remind me a good side of it. I kinda miss freedom that Ukraine has. European countries are highly regulated and in order to create safe and prosperous society, they regulate every aspect of people's lives to the point that if you go to some forrest for example, you most likely will be required to follow prebuiljt path. So while they try to make it better, I always felt very restricted in Europe. I like Europe but imcall it luxury open prison. You are free to move and free to do everything we allowed you to do. It's not necessarily a bad thing but certainly not for everyone. Ukraine on the other hand has a degree of anarchism and instead of regulating it is expected that people handle things on their own. So it kinda has true freedom and you certainly feel more free in Ukraine but at expense of shitty society development. While I don't really want to come back, because I already don't think of Ukraine as home country, Ukrainian freedom I something I certainly miss.

Well, Obolon has zero history in it it was built were formerly meadows were to pasture the cattle, mostly after 70-80s if the last century. And we don't regard graffitis on the walls as art, rather a sign of urban degradation. And I don't know where you got that information, that church is newly built I remember how it was built in the middle of new neighbourhood ( they call them massivs there, it's a Soviet legacy), you confused it with Pokrovsķy monastery, which is in the historical part of Kyiv, there's were the church by architect Nikolayev is. It's not far from Lukyanovka, but it's kinda hidden inside the quarter, you unlikely see it from the main streets. Go there, uf you want to see real history, there's akso so called Mala (Opera+ small opera) next to Lukjanivska metro, but be careful, the place was shelled at least 3 times. I wonder what made you come here, and stay here being under constant life threat. If I only could leave somewhere, I'd do that without looking back, being under 2 threats , missiles on one hand and those recruiters to the army, who hunt on men and beat them to snatch them from the streets and send them to the war against their will, regardless how well they are prepared and what is their health condition . I want more people from abroad talk about that, that borders are closed for most men and that's nothing else than discrimination based on gender and age( and social status as well, those, close to the power are safe from that) 😢 it is gruesome
