J-Hope’s rap in particular, which declares that listeners should “rebel against a hellish society,” is a loaded statement as it evokes the nickname “Hell Joseon” (“???”) used by many to describe the current state of Korea, a reference to a historic name for the country. The term came about for a variety of reasons, including the rigidity of education and lacking career prospects facing the current generation. This is why I believe that BTS are as successful as they are today. Because they choose to write about topics that not many other kpop artists talk about. The fact that they were doing something completely different from what others were doing. That they didn't conform to that stereotypical version of what a kpop boy group was supposed to be. They are 7 boys from small towns in Korea that wanted to change the music world and break language barriers and change stereotypes. They wanted to be that voice of hope and reason for hundreds and thousands of kids around the world. This is what we mean when we say no-one else is doing it like BTS. #BTSpavedtheway I've only been an ARMY for 2 years nearly and I cant even begin to explain how proud of the boys I am. Just seeing how far they have come makes me wanna cry. They have helped me so much its unbelievable. Jungkook was only 15 at the time!! This is June 2013, he turned 16 in September. (he will say he was 17...this is his Korean age, they have a different way to determine ages. One is that they are 1 year old when they are born, the other is that they age another year on their 1st lunar New year. That is why you'll hear them say they are older than their birth year clearly makes them. Jungkook is September 1997, so he was 3 months before turning 16. Pretty crazy, right? At 5:05 that was Jungkook rapping btw. He rapped a little during their debut days. And that was Jungkook picking up Jimin at 10:21 not Suga. I truly appreciate all the love you show to RM, he's my bias wrecker but I wish sometimes you'd notice Taehyung (V), Jungkook and Jimin more :/ since you know Suga, Jhope and Jin a bit.

Funny, I didn't like rap before I became a fan of BTS. I even had to google what is meant by "spitting bars". But, these guys are so awesome, I even love them rapping! It's the mix of so many different genres and talents that made them the worldwide superstars they are right now.

Well, I have to admit, I was faster at learning their names than Sammy. And it's really strange that he has obvious problems with Jungkook in particular. But, I think you are right, he is just more into the rap than the vocal line. But, that's okay. Everyone has a different perspective and taste. So many fans are in love with Jimin and Jungkook, and now our precious rap line also gets lots of love by Sammy, why not?!
