This is one of the best albums of the year. The whole thing is an absolute masterpiece and a great way to ease into black metal. Lots of elements of power metal and melodic death metal.

This was cool. The music itself was excellent. Brutal and in your face. The lead guitar in this was amazing. The vocals were good for what they were,personally I would have loved some cleans thrown in but still....good song.

Absolute banger, loved the whole album. I'm always up for melodic black metal, but the power metal influences here really make it stand out. If you enjoyed this, you might also want to check out Night Crowned. "Flickan som Försvann" is a damn good song

I don't really watch reaction videos but I couldn't help notice the band you are checking out Moonlight sorcery So thought I'd give it a watch. I find Moonlight sorcery though KZbin's algorithm and boy that was very satisfying hearing them for the first time. So far that's a double win for KZbin algorithm, found a sweet band and this channel 😎. Also check out black braid from Canada, native American black metal

@WNYretiree I have been seeing your musical journey play out in YT comments over the last year, you have come a long way in expanding your horizons and taste! For me personally when it comes to black metal the Epic Atmospheric BM genre is where it's at. My fav bands in the genre are Caldan Brood and Gallowbraid from Salt Lake City. Try for instance "Caladan Brood - To Walk the Ashes of Dead Empires", and make sure you check the lyrics, will help you connect to the feelings in the vocal lines.

@@rolsen1304 Those are very kind words, and I really appreciate your encouragement. It means a lot to think that there are people out there who care about my musical journey I did listen to the song you suggested from Caldan Brood and Gallowbraid. I listened to "To Walk the Ashes of dead Empires" and picked one at random from Gallowbraid "Ashen Eidolon." I especially loved the instrumentals on the Caldan Brood song. And, I find that to be true of most of the black metal songs I listen to. I love the instrumentals, but I just can't get through the harsh vocals. I think that, maybe, I'm just to old to be able to adapt to a vocal style that is so far from what I am used to. I much prefer the vocals from the likes of Marko, Hietala, Hansi Kursch and Russell Allen. But, you know, I'm still pretty proud of myself that I have come as far as I have. Pretty good for an old broad, I think.

@@WNYretiree So impressive when someone with a few years on their back is still willing to expand their horizons and experience new things. I'm closing in on 40 myself and have noticed a tendency to not have the energy or "care" to explore creeping in on me in recent years, that I now consciously choose to beat down in order to stay flexible in my mind. Caladan Brood in particular was something of a revelation for me re: BM vocals, because it's pretty clear from the lyrics in the album that the harsh vocals is a character absolutely ravaged by essentially PTSD and as the germans would say "weltschmerz", pain at the state of the world. Once I picked up on that the creaky, dry and desperate sound clicked for me and I came to enjoy it. It's emotional content you really could not convey more efficiently with another vocal style. That said we are all different, I just applaud your willingness to give it a try!

Well not my thing vocally, but musically there was a bit here for me. Some nice melodic guitar work. That fast thrashy beat is a bit much for my tastes as well, but I'm sure others will like it. ❤ and
