To be fair, the saves don't really disappear after they get shot in the credits, so it's quite alright

@@sazechs_451 Yes, they do. Each time you get shot, a save file disappear. But there are so many other save files replacing the disappearing ones, and that's the point.

@@hieioni3354 They don't, otherwise it'd be impossible for the incoming saves to outnumber the lost saves. Every time someone reaches ending E, they "lose" a bunch of saves along the way to get there, by design. I know it's possible to do it without losing any, or even solo (I don't pretend I'm able to, just that some people can) but those people don't spend their days save scumming ending E and doing that insane thing flawlessly just so they can keep the databases full, and Square Enix likely isn't paying a guy to edit the numbers each time they reach a certain point so they can keep going. The saves being totally erased upon getting shot is just impossible on a gameplay perspective because there wouldn't be any left by now for the reason I explained a few lines higher.

Genuinely one of the most unforgettable experiences I've ever had playing a game. The entire time playing through I was looking forward to getting a chapter select so I could go back and do stuff that I missed out on in the first chapter, so giving up my save data hurt like crap, but there was no way I wasn't going to give support to others when they sacrificed their save files for me. On a side note, to this day have had a bit of curiosity about what the "debug mode" does but I haven't felt like looking it up cause it'd be like negating part of the sacrifice made. Anyways, I've played a few games over the years that toy with emotions via breaking the 4th wall like this, but this is the only one that affected me to the core. Feeling a sort of unconditional love from complete strangers, receiving their words of strength to push you on to see the ending. Even outside of gaming there are very few things quite like that.

Thank you, I absolutely love this game so I enjoy others playthroughs just as much as playing it. The unspoken trick to enduring the NTR is _not taking the silly story seriously_ , Oji-san is there for the _goods_ and so are you, pretend you're on the winning faction... So the statement this is worse then NTR is kind of ironically hilariously accurate. You go in for the short-white-haired-hot-big-boobie big booty android babes, but NieR;Automata forces, no, DEmands your attention into its world and story, but goes far more then just hopelessly cruel outcomes and some petty unfaithful NTR relationship issues and hits you with Humanity's biggest philosophical questions and a cruel truth between the characters. Its a game that forever changed my viewpoint on life during a difficult time in my own life, and has a beautiful tried and true message that not everything is meaningless in the most hopeless situations, new hope is real and that no one overcomes great adversity by themselves alone. Also big pretty girl booty, BDSM military visors and hot android maids.
