We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. i check in every now and again, and gosh i remember the 'old days' before trikecta - you moved states to where you are because you were being evaluated for a double (lung / liver) transplant - and 4 years later you're the mum of 2 kids who didnt need the transplant, and got through covid 19 with CF! its truly just so awesome to see

Covid was definitely rough for me and I came down with it in February of this year but fortunately having the Covid vaccine helped to reduce the effects of the virus.

As a Nurse that cared for CF patients 35 yearrs ago the progress that has been made in available treatment options is truly amazing how I wish these treatments were, available then but heck if this is real life difference research and drug trials can bring I have hope for the future

So so happy to see you both again!! Sorry you and your two precious babies had bouts with colds but thankfully all doing better now. It is truly amazing and a miracle how Trikafta has changed your life so drastically Mary. Before Trikafta it was so difficult for you to do everyday tasks and now to be a parent to two precious little ones. You all had colds while Peter was away for the weekend and you handled everything so well!!!! It brings me tears of happiness to see such a positive change!! Beyond happy for all of you. My cats are already on purina one (for about 5 years) and when I first switched it was just my now 10 year old boy but the difference in him was night and day. He really loves it and previously he had been really picky with his food and every few months I would have to change him onto a different brand to keep him eating dry food but no more, as I say, he loves purina one and his weight is fantastic, his coat is beautiful and he is a very happy boy. My other cat is still a kitten right now (9 weeks tomorrow) and he is loving purina one. I really can’t second the recommendation from the Frey’s strong enough!

Not surprised you lost your voice. With all that coughing, that has to have something to do with it. It's amazing you can now deal with a cold and still get on with things, even if you have to slow down a bit. That's a miracle!!! Haven't been following you for very long, but have seen some of your old videos, and it's amazing what Tricafta has done for you. Maybe one day babies can get it when they're diagnosed so they don't have to live with the scarring. Now that would be awesome!!!! Science is amazing, and God is good.

I’m happy to see how well you are doing and for the stability. I hope to have stability in my lungs one day. I don’t have CF but im 29, I have 32% lung function with severe asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and COPD from the pulmonary fibrosis with chronic pneumonia I get at least 8 + times a year along with several different illnesses

I think since you have been on tricafta (sorry if I spelled that wrong ) your health seems so much better yes you still get sick but you recover so much easier I remember before you moved to NC when you caught a cold you would end up in the hospital it has been a long time since you have had to go to the hospital. I am so happy for you and Peter now you go girl there is nothing you can't do

I'm so very thankful for your stability!! PTL!! I really miss your daily vlogs but totally understand that family comes first. Just know we miss you but are praying for you and cheering you on every day. You and Peter are such wonderful parents and I know what a blessing those babies are to you and you are to them. BTW, my parents are in Canada right now and are bringing me some (48 to be exact 😂) real Kinder Eggs! I'm so excited!!! I've never gotten to open a real one! Those stupid Kinder Joys we have in the States definitely don't count...lol. And yes, I'm an adult and I'm legit excited about little toys inside eggs 😂😂 It makes me miss your Scotland vlogs!

About Elijah being a climber. I know it is potentially risky, but when you allow children to do dangerous things (climbing the outside edge of the stairs)in a safe way (only 5 steps or only as high as mommy can reach) children learn their limits and they learn to mitigate risks on their own. It might be time for some indoor climbing equipment 😊

So glad your lung function is stable. I am just about to be listed for double lung transplant at the University of Maryland for COPD. My God daughter had CF ( she was at Hopkins, Mandy Wagner) and unfortunately didn't make it to be able to try Trikafta. I am so happy that it is working for you and seeing the difference before and after is amazing. God bless you and your family .

So glad to see you two again, but sorry you've had colds. Hope the little guys are feeling better by now. Mary, I listened to a couple of online devotionals today and immediately thought of you. One was by Our Daily Bread and the other by In Touch ministries. The theme of each one had to do with choosing our attitude, and one of them used the phrase Choose Joy. They're only a couple of minutes long, and you might enjoy listening. I still love the Choose Joy necklaces I got from your shop. Such a good reminder. Look forward to your upcoming video.

Praise God for trikafta! It has been approved here for adults with two copies of the DF508 gene, and now the government has approved for kids too ! The most people with CF pay is $45.00 AUD. And if you're on disability even less. I'm so stoked !!! I only wish it had been around in the 90s before friends I knew with severe CF passed. I am SO happy Mary you're able to endure a cold and overcome it with oral antibiotics. Love Sonia, Sydney , Australia

I've had many cats growing up and they eat anything. Cat food wet/dry/mice/bugs/canned tuna. The cat we got for my daughter would eat wet food/tuna as a kitten. By about 9mos old she became picky and would only eat Purina dry cat food.

I know its been a couple of weeks since your port surgery replacement.. And the recovery time happening now!! And welcome to fall already it almost two months past Your 34th birthday!! And now as of August 24th were now in SEASON 10th anniversary of your series on KZbin 🎂🎂year 10 how crazy is that already..🎂 Im glad to hear the boys are getting along and your animals Ollie and harry doing fine while doing the Purina cat food challenge.. Yes, antibiotics can't help a virus, only if you have an infection can they help. Unless she was tested for Covid, she really doesn't know what she had. Covid can have cold-like symptoms.. And it's a shame her dad got it too. Be careful with those babies; we are now in flu and RSV season, and it can be pretty hard on babies. And Covid. :(

It's amazing that you can be that symptomatic with so much mucus in your lungs, but have the same PFT results. I can't wrap my head around how that works, but obviously soooo happy that's the reality. Do you guys remember the 90s CatDog cartoon?? Just want to quickly recommend Jackson Galaxy for all things cat because he has a video series on cat food that explains why wet food is so much better than dry. I don't think you mentioned what kind you're using, but hopefully it can help at least 1 person out there if they stumble upon this comment.

It’s absolutely a blessing and a miracle that even while fighting off a gunky cold, your pulmonary function remains …stable! And yeah, you might’ve needed to call in the crew, but…you still got through the week of baby cold sans Peter! This is definitely a win! 🎉🎉🎉 (Don’t worry, I also call in my parents when I’m down to just me and kiddo, and we’re both sick. Partially because Mum has to look after me, while Dad looks after kiddo. And so that there’s someone with kiddo for the inevitable ER visit - that’s me going to the ER, not kiddo, although wow does he strike high fevers.) ❤ Sasha

The lady that helped me with my breathing test last time didn't do it right she kept on and kept on making me redo it many times I had just been sick a month before that and I wasn't as well as I usely am and she kept trying to get a better one and I couldn't do it hope I never get that person again

My fear if your lung function is slowly still getting worse than is the meds masking it till one day you wake up and your lung function is so minimal that the meds can no longer even mask it.
