That is amazing. You made excellent use out of the space available. The windshield mount is a brilliant idea. I may need to use that!

You keep saying not the best............I think you did a great job, it gets the job done plus it looks great. You didn't just throw it together, you put some thought into the layout and how it was going to function. Excellent video for those who don't even know where to start.

Good idea! Well Done. I can't do this as I live in New York City where you don't need a car. Hence, I walk everywhere. I use a good backpack to carry my radio the one mile to my working position in Central Park. Thanks for the video.

Simple is GREAT, and cheap is even better. BTW, in this part of the world, we call that "butterfly screw" a wingnut. (Politically it has a lot of other meanings too.)

Nice setup. I'm looking to set mine up similar. My battery will not be in the box though. I'm building a separate 100ah battery box. I will be in a remote park for a week with no power.

well done great job, I have just completed a go box using a flight case, I fixed 2 suitcase wheels on the bottom and a suitcase handle to the back, boy that saves me carrying the box as I do not have a car. it's quite heavy so anything to help my legs. I have yet to take it out to play but I don't see any problems.

Nice! That's what I'm looking for, a nice serviceable system that doesn't cost too much. What do you use for a battery meter?

It’s a voltmeter with usb charger. I picked the cheapest one on Amazon that was not an outlet. If you’re willing to drill the box there are even better options

Do you have a link? 13. Cloth for protection 14. Paddle do you have link? 15. Paddle connector. Do you have link? 16. Charging cord at end/see voltage? @@ve2zdx Thanks Andre! A couple clarifying questions: where does the "power pole splitter" fit in? you say it 'replaces' the splitter? what is the difference between the RG58 jumper and rg58 tuner? what cords is going to connect what to what? (full disclosure, I'm a new ham and my ft891 just arrived the other day, so yes, much to learn 🙂 ). i.e. what cord will connect from radio to tuner, and radio to strip, etc... just want to make sure I get all that straight and don't no order enough or the right cords. 73 kk7gls

@@StaffAction you can get the power strip (the one wit many power poles "outlets" or just the splitter) because you need 1 power pole to connect the radio and other for the tunner. One RG58 is to connect the tuner to the radio, the other is to connect the antenna to the tuner. It's just the length. if you dont have a battery for external use I recommend this one I have. Besides fitting in the box very well with the radio, Dakota makes great batteries. The top makes are Dakota Lithium, Amped Ourdoors and Bioenno. You will have to buy Anderson Powerpoles and the crimper. The terminal used in the battery is the F terminal, so you need to make a short patch cord with F terminal on one side and anderson power pole on the other. If you buy the power pole splitter you can just remove the anderson powerpole from one end and put a F terminal.

Tenho. Ele eu vou usar mais no verão porque acho que se eu ficar com ele na neve tem muito risco de estragar, principalmente a tela. O ft-891 aguenta mais e se estragar ele é mais barato 73

Hello! It’s called “Motorcycle SAE to USB Cable Adaptor Dual USB Cell Phone Charger & Voltmeter AU 12-24V Waterproof Motorbike SAE to USB Adapter Charger With Voltmeter Dual USB 12-24V” on Amazon. This one is very cheap, there might be many better options out there. Look for voltmeter and you’ll find many interesting ones. 73
