The M27 has all ready started replacing the current rifles, not every company has them but they have all ready been issued. I dont know exactly know if the m27 will be the new rifle for all the marines but i do remember hearing about it allot in boot and read a couple article on it.

The name of what Battlefield calls the rifle is M416,the real name is HK416 considering the compnay it is made by is called Heckler and Koch(HK).

@Asenscion123 They probably don't want to use those mags because they are larger and bulkier than SAW (and other LMG) box magazines; they are harder to carry therefore less can be carried which means the firepower carried is less than that which can be carried with a SAW. Also; mag-fed LMGs may jam or malfunction more than belt-fed ones.

I think it's unlikely that the Bushmaster/Remington ACR will be selected over the FN SCAR, which is already combat tested, proven, and coming out of the FN shops. plus Bushmaster makes chinsy weapons

Doubtful. If anything they'd go to the HK-416 it's the NATO version of an AK-47 but with way less recoil and more accuracy.

I compared it to the AK, because the AK is the most durable gun in the world. Doesn't matter if you hate it or not. It's a fact. So of course a gun with the durability of an AK and the accuracy of an m16 would replace the Standard issue gun.

it sucks man. really. it does. the first month is fun and exciting. but after you see a fellow Marine w/ no legs because of an IED strike you question what the fuck you/re doing there. And all you want is to do is make it home.if you really want it go for it. Just know that war will test your intestinal fortitude as a man. I made it out. don't regret it. But it aint no video game.
