Absolutely fantastic video honoring Nebraska and its history. My grandfather grew up in a sod house in western Nebraska, broke his first horse by 4, grabbed a shotgun on the way to the outhouse each day, served in WWII, built a majority of his house alone, tended a large vegetable garden each summer, hunted and fished across this state, and now rests in its earth. He loved Nebraska and now, rather than feeling trapped by endless rows of fields I feel surrounded by growth. This is a great video, thank you for sharing it with us.

Wonderful video... makes me miss home a lot. Nebraskans go all over the globe and represent the state with a great attitude, passion, integrity, and spirit of happiness. Everyone comments about the unbelievable optimism that comes from the state. Hold your head high Nebraska, many of the greatest people on earth are there and will continue to be for all time. Living abroad has made me realize that home is such a wonderful place. There's a strong force pulling me home, can't wait to be back. =)

Some nice pics. Many thanks. I was born in Kearney and my grandfather's farm is now a sandhills crane sanctuary on the river. I grew up in Harrison...riding motorcycles in Sow Belly Canyon and the Pine Ridge cliffs near Munroe Canyon. It was a great life looking back. My life has been the ocean since then and I live in Bermuda now, but coming back to visit family always reminds me of the good things there. You can keep the cold, harsh and windy winters however!

Nice job, Lisa. Sometimes when I can't quite understand why I stick around this state, it's nice to see another person's appreciation for some of the bits and pieces of home that I like too. Misery loves company.

i know the old nebraska, the old farm houses are cold and very drafty. i used to tell my mother i can feel those degreese (new word) blowing through the wall, even with a raging fire less than 10 feet away.

Very nice... People don't realize the history or that this state has it all. It's plains and it's mountains, lakes and rivers. Seasons... good and bad. We are hearty people ... God fearing fun loving. I would like to slow it down a bit though and be able to look at the beautiful pictures longer.

its not really the crime rate, its the fact that in order to get a feel for what nebraska is all about you have to go outside the big cities. the small town people in neb. are some of the friendliest around. you have no idea what work is until youve lived on a farm.

I was raised in Florence just north of Omaha on a farm and there were good and bad things about it just like all things. I came to realize that the folks in Snyder thought that Columbus was filled with sin and violence and Columbus thought that of Norfolk, who thought that of Lincoln who thought that of Omaha who thought that of Kansas City who thought that of Chicago ,,,,etc. Do I need to drag up the pedophile sex torture that happened in Rulo? Make the most of what you have. Peace.
....could be. Like elysium in Gladiator. You know....."if you find yourself alone riding in green fields with the sun on your face".........................

I agree with Huskerpower42. I dont care what you say and if you are from Houston you would have no clue what Omaha is like. Sleeping on the second floor of a two story house and all you hear are shots ring out in your backyard or better yet, i was at friend's house and there was shots outside then all a sudden you see red and blue flashing all over the place. YOU HAVE NO CLUE! I lived in Omaha for 27 years. Now I live in a small town still in Nebraska where there is only 3 cops PERIOD.
@exenrontexas15 жыл бұрын
You need to get out more. While all urban areas have crime, Omaha is no where NEAR the top of the charts. By comparison, Omaha is one of the safest cities of it's size in America. I realize and accept that if you from Lexington or Red Cloud that Omaha seems crime ridden but from an opportunity and development and education point of view, Omaha is the BEST city in Nebraska. BTW: I live in Houston, and you have NO IDEA what the crime problem is.
