The instrument you were asking about in the beginning is called a guzheng. It is about a foot wide by 4 feet long with strings, which is a simplified description of a beautiful Chinese instrument. I love the sound they make. There are several videos on YT you can watch to hear them played. You should maybe watch some Korean, Chinese, and Japanese historical dramas. I found it both amusing and irritating that you even repeated the phrase "Taking China to the world", and it still didn't click for you that he was singing in Chinese, and then when the video started, "Is this where they filmed Daeschwita?". Oh dear. You crack me up.

Thanks Sammy for making this reaction, enjoy it as always. The reason why Lay is angry is many people tease him for being a good-looking idol and know nothing about music. But the fact is Lay has been working hard to make music for his albums. So he's sending messages to those people and haters: what you say can't beat me down but make me stronger. Fans of Lay, please correct me if there's anything wrong. 10:30 is Peking Opera. He is called Xiang Yu, a role in a traditional play, and it's related to the first line of the MV. "Lit" has a similar pronunciation as "lotus" in Chinese. Lotus usually implies pure and unstained personality in Chinese culture. Because lotus remains pristine even though it grows out from mud. I think Lay mimics lotus when he's coming out from (black?) water. I hope this incredible MV won't attract too much more attention than his music. Not a Lay fan but appreciate his music.

Lay is a nummer 1 artist in China. This music was filmed in Chinas biggest film studio and the video cost 1.4 million dollars to make and took 6 months i belive and the crazy part it that it came from his own pocket, in other words dude is rich af. His latest album which came out the first sold 1.5 million copies in 7 minutes, and before Baekhyun (another exo member) released his solo album last year Lay was the artist with the best selling album in Korea and the crazy part being that it was in Chinese. Lay also produce and write most of his songs. He is also EXO's best dancer along side Kai (it comes down to prefrence), Lay also is an amazing vocalist and a great rapper, as well as a good actor. I think the long end credits is affecting the view count. I’ve watched this video so many times. Been waiting almost a week for you to see this. Yes, it is art. I hope they make an explanation video of the video and the lyrics because I had to google so much to understand the lyrics alone, which is filled with so much duality - even the title. Was shot at the world’s biggest film studio in China. Cost $1.4 m - 1.6m to produce which by music video standards compared to Michael Jackson and Madonna MVs from the 1990s is dirt cheap.
