My hope is that they're delaying Solistia for some larger marketing plan in the winter. I won't mind waiting for 3.0 if that's the case. However, this roadmap shows no indication of Solistia, which gives me the same worries that you expressed. I don't want to be waiting and holding rubies for an event that never comes to pass. It's a concerning time, but if they don't say anything, then we'll just have to wait and see.

People should not be waiting and holding rubies based on the JP schedule when the EN schedule has been different from it so many times and the EN characters have been different from the JP characters so many times. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if that has hampered this version's ability to make money compared to the Japanese version. It's entirely possible that Square-Enix is planning on shutting down most of its gachas outside of Asia due to how much financial trouble they're in as a company and this is one of the games on the chopping block next year.

Yeah. But it would be cruel if they did this. Even if we are being optimist and they will eventually release solistia, it makes no sense to delay that long. Theoretically you can introduce TP without Solistia because you can earn the points and the mats on Orstera contents. But if that's the case, they really should communicate this better.

I think a fake out would be worse. Imagine how that plays out, hey what we gave you two weeks ago was a gag. Here is the real roadmap. Now it would be fine if they are like hey we heard your feedback and are speeding up the releases. But I think EoS is more likely than an apology with a rework.

Alot of the characters you mentioned have either 6 star or TP or both. They would either have to move up those systems by themselves early, which is super unlikely or release them without those upgrades which is going to be awkward. Some of them aren't good at all without those upgrades and when would they roll out the upgrades for them??

I think of it like this: square has already created all of the assets and VA in JP. Surely the cost of localising to EN and keeping the server open for English speaking countries would be insignificant relative to the potential income. It would be INSANE of SE to remove the EN server, only to keep the Taiwan server, considering that only like 20 million people live in Taiwan, and nearly 300 million native speakers of English, like?

It's sad, but I think you are right about the risk of EoS. CoTC Global has always been a low earner and a roadmap such as this one for the anniversary is bound to kill any interest. I must say I'm happy they completed the entirety of the master/bestower saga, for a few reasons I have a very negative opinion of the state of the game since January and started fearing EoS was incoming a few months ago. Thank you for all your content Urshiko, you have been a real source of wisdom. CotC SEA is in english, right? I don't think I have the willpower to restart from scratch, but there is always that option.

My first thought looking at this roadmap was EoS. This is what DFFOO looked like a few months before they announced EoS - little to no new content when we knew JP still had plenty to localize for Global, stretching out content and adding filler re-runs, etc.

​@@c1sowerit's only a shock for GL because GL had been speeding up things, while JP is normal. If anything last month before EoS, all events are rolled normally for JP and there is nothing indicating that for JP players that EoS is incoming aside from the obvious lack of lvl 100 upgrade for years.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the rubies or the money or the luck to get every strong or relevant character. In my opinion, the game needs more catch-up mechanics. Unfortunately, first-day veterans don't see the difficulties of players who are just starting the game. The difference between the characters back then and now is enormous. The fact that in the current endgame difficulty level, certain relevant characters are required in order to progress. Coupled with the current catch-up mechanics, this is simply not enough and not fair, which is why many players stop playing or lose interest in the game.

Unfortunately by also delaying update(if that is all GL did), you are also guaranteed to stuck forever in content without relevant units and all shiny new Solistia units are practically powercrept hard the normal storyline woes you might encounter. By introudcing patch earlier, you also get more gems that way earlier. 1 month just login only net you 1 multipull at best, and if they throw in crumbs for some temp quest, maybe an extra two multipull. Also unless you don't know, Torch update is not limited to Solistia unit and they eventually benefit everyone, delaying it actually detrimental for anyone progress.

I also know that as it stands now the JP servers are about 14 months ahead of us and the TW servers are about 6 months ahead of us. My point is that there are not enough catch-up mechanics, when I look at what the JP and TW servers get compared to us it is more than unfair. Previously there was a weaker 4 star version for every 5 star character. With the forbidden 11 characters we had the opportunity to get weaker A4 item versions of some strong 5 star characters. Unfortunately, this no longer exists, I would also like to have the Solista Update as soon as possible. This Torch Update, is this something like the Novice Feats tasks but with new rewards? I apologize for my ignorance, but my Japanese language knowledge is still very modest.

I do feel like they'd keep going for that nier replicant collab money itself tbh, and solistia obviously has a whole lot to make bank from. idk I don't think a gacha would have the "morals" about potentially closing a story halfway, feels more like an exec wants to stretch things out to try milking EN more. Either that or they're actually hiding it from the roadmap until the next tavern talk

If they wanted to milk EN for more money, they would've released Solistia next month. If people are saving free rubies, it means less money for them. The game was doing well when we had 1-2 new banners every month.

Well to be fair JP DFFOO chose to wrap up the story to coincide with their EoS. Yes GL ones does not match JP ones in updates, but they make effort to upload translated story end to youtube for the players to see. Basically 3 moths full of rerun is never a good thing when that exactly what happened when DFFOO planned EoS happend. 3 months full of rerun banners while finishing up the story.

As long as Japan and Taiwan makes money, EN will continue to make this game despite the pleas for EOS. There will be a tavern talk. Hopefully they do add Solistia content.

I know I won’t give up on the game so to me it’s good news as it allows me to save even more (I’m at 17k rubies, planning to get cygna and saz), but I understand that people would get bored and uninstall if nothing happens for 4 months. They’re gonna do fiorex/sofiex banner for sure this summer, but we dont care too much about it imo

Because that also happened to introduce torch points and eventually *6. Delaying the updates does raise questions. I don't think it's feasible to do 3 months full of rerun characters, no matter what even if they only focus on meta characters or collab. Not to mention TW already preview that their solistia update bring a lot of JP QoL early. This does not matter of course because QoL can be implemented anytime if they wanted with a bit more effort. Either Solistia update is intentionally hidden for marketing purpose (just Like LAL second part), or GL just gone mad. While F2P might like it because saving reasons, remember low revenue does impact game performance
