@@ohnono3984 The original comment specified a huge V8 as part of the formula, so yes, it does in fact matter. As for fast sedans? GM was making those on 3 different CONTINENTS before BMW's M division even so much as existed. You can simp all you want for one expensive German brand that sells to people who haven't used a turn signal in their life, but the fact remains that GM did it first, and as of today with the CT4 and CT5 Blackwings, they still do it best.

Thats the depressing thing about them. Theyre just... Hardcore versions of the road cars. But its still the same car underneath. Its depressing that, with a 911 GT3 RS, you think, ah, i just put some race slicks on for track days and its a basically a race car, but it just isnt. You get out there, and it rolls, it almost feels floppy cause its nowhere near stiff enough, and all of that "aero" turns out to be miniscule because the rear wing has next to no angle, and the front splitter is about 8 inches off the ground preventing any real venturi effect from happening because there is practically nothing sealing the underbody air pressure... And then you realise that youre much better off spending a fraction on a radical.

Well an M3 isn't a real race car either. Maybe because real race cars (rally cars excepted) don't work on public roads that well. The suspension settings that make a car work on a track make the car at least uncomfortable if not undrivable on bumpy public roads!

@@Fanboy1222 oh I've seen a Volvo station wagon working really good on the track (the team mentioned that the aerodynamics are a bit better than of the sedan). But they made a race car out of it. And than as I said it didn't work on public roads anymore, for the race settings are too extreme. Don't get me wrong I prefer BMW before Mercedes in general. But neither of them M3/M4 or their counterparts by Mercedes are actually really race cars ...
