good video there... but I'm not aligned with the title. A watch that does much more than showing time is a smartwatch. does not need to have the ability to install apps for it to be called a smartwatch. It pretty much has all the stuff that samsung galaxy has, notif/bluetooth/wifi/heartrate/o2 level/sleep tracking which according to me qualifies to be called a smartwatch

Good argument but that's where I draw the line. This watch doesn't have enough customisation options and it is also lacking in app support, which means I can't link health data with any other apps of my liking. Furthermore, if any watches that does more just showing time is considered "smart", then those analogy watches that vibrates for notifications should also be called smartwatches.

@@NasiLemakTech fair enough. Customization option. That's exactly why I chose fossil (wear os) over Samsung Galaxy watch 3 a few yrs back which works well in tizen os...again proparaitory apps. But the price for using wear os is the disappointing battery life. 1 day not more. Samsung Galaxy 4 has the exact same drawback currently. Fyi... All fitness data from mi can be synced with Google fit. I've researched a bit and ordered S1 active and my criteria was to have battery life for at least 4-5 days. So that's something that made me choose this over samsung 4. Got a good deal in rakuten

Nope. No app support on this watch. For your purposes, I can only think of Samsung Galaxy Watch4 or Watch5. I think you'll also need to pair it with a Samsung phone for the complete ecosystem integration

It works but definitely need to be in a quiet environment. For the Alexa functionality, I didn't bother with it since I don't use Alexa.

I'm someone can help me with my new Xiaomi 1s active. I recently bought it and had no issues with it, however, when it ran out of battery and I charged it, it did turn on but all the data stopped recording: steps, sleep, heart rate, calories... And I don't know how to fix this

That's a very weird issue. I think an easy way out (potentially) is to factory reset the watch.

It's right that the watch always counts Calories and Steps and vibrate about their results and it's impossible to disable to STOP counts?? It's possible to set the watch that it inform me ONLY about the calls, emails and messages??

good sir... if per 1 example the watch is able to automatically tell you what sport you are doing by sensing your movement .. it is smart. if it can control its own brightness by sensing the environment brightness ..it is smart. for this and more reasons it is a Smart watch. thanks for the review

Yes you can select which app notification makes the watch vibrate. As for the strength... Not exactly that strong when compared to the Samsung ones

My advise is just to restart lol. The weather widget is buggy sometimes as I also experienced that issue during my review period. As for the blood pressure monitoring, this watch doesn't have that feature.

You seem to want to establish your standard, in general a smart watch offers extra functionality and connectivity on top of the features offered by standard watches, this watch does that. Increase nncts to your phone. Tracks heart rate, oxygen levels, you can answer calls etc.

You'll have to install the same radio app for your phone as well. Then, the radio app on the watch works like a remote control. It only controls the phone.

for me, a watch only shows time. I grew up with regular watches. the most sophisticated ones were digital and had a calculator and an alarm that sounded like a little bug. it seems that the younger generation had set the bar pretty high. a watch that provides not only time and an alarm should be labeled as a smartwatch! the freaking smartwatch gives you the position on planet hearth(GPS), that is smart. In 100 years from now smartphones won't have a screen, they will probably be attached to your skin, today's ones will look like pieces of sh*t. I do agree this is expensive as hell for what it does. a band does the same!

If you're looking for a fitness band then whatever goes. The Mi Band 7 Pro is good enough. If you want a smartwatch then your best bet is the Galaxy Watch4 or Watch5 series.

I decided to pull go for it. ....it was a mistake! It's an oversized fitness band (not really a smart watch) and a bad one at that. The appearance of everything meets expectations, but the substance, data detail, accuracy, and functionality are all missing. I can't see that any of the results other than perhaps the step counter or GPS tracking are accurate to a useful degree. The sleep data appears to be entirely based off of heart rate (which is a flawed model), and there is no indication that the heart rate tracking is any better than Mi Watch, which was ok, but not excellent. I can't recommend this "watch" if you care about the data quality, and I can't recommend it if you want other features (there basically are none and there are no apps that work with it because it's a proprietary OS). Two thumbs down! I'm going to sell mine

If it can't install apps or run smart assistants on the watch itself, it doesn't deserve to be called a smartwatch. Any watches running WearOS provides so much more value in terms of features and customizations that you can do.
