Yes thats right Centauri! Thanks for that... I have never smelled anything from his house but I would really like to get my nose on some of his fragrances...I love his personality ... his story about being so scared of interacting with people he was shaking just to even call someone on the phone a decade ago to where he is today is an amazing story... thanks so much for watching & sharing 👍

I'm not a big oud lover. The only oud fragrance i own is Gold Rose Oudh by Tiziana Terenzi: a very good rose oud combination, really powerful, extreme sillage and projection, and very long lasting. Your videos are always very enjoyable.

When I first smelled Oud for Greatness I laughed. To think Initio had the audacity to put that name on the bottle. Luckily, I only have a small sample and I still haven't finished it. The Malle Desert Gem prices are outrageous. Unpopular opinion I don't like the Night. I just get rose and oud. Very astringent and not a lot of nuance. Oud Palao is great. I find it more similar to Dior Oud Ispahan than Dusita Oudh Infini. Great content as always. A breath of fresh air 🐏💪

Peter from youtube's perfume company is Centauri! Also Laurice also worked for Avon (at the same time as Michelyn Camen did: she is the Editor-in-Chief of Cafleurebon and my old boss!) so I guess you could say (or don't on air anyway) that No9 is a cross between CREED (also called the House of GREED **lol**) and AVON. I wrote a piece once called "To Oud or not to Oud" and said a company can legally say something is "MADE WITH real oud" even if all somone did was to take an oud chip/twig and stirs a 1000 gallon vat of jus with it...they wouldn't be lying! Love these NOT A TOP TEN lists keep them coming. It's hard to get caught up with all the content you release but I wouldn't have it any other way and would rather watch you than most of what is on TV or streaming services these days! Much fragrant love, GP xox PS: If you like Millisime 1849 check out Bond No9 Harrod's Oud (the one between Him & Her when the Harrods Bonds first came out...forget the Sawrovski bottle you can get it without all the bling and I think it;s still under 4 bills. BTW NY Oud is not discontinued I looked the other day when you said that and its like 360 for 50mL and 470 for 100mL if memory serves...
@RamseytheRam10 ай бұрын
Your twig of oud stirred in a 1000 gallon vat is probably closer to the truth than you think 😅😅😅 Ensar once told a story that a rep from Tom Ford called him to RENT a piece of real oud for a photo shoot 😂😂😂

Hey Ramsey🙌 great journey through the ouds of the perfume world! Are you familiar with Acqua di Parma's "Colonia Oud", "Oud edp" and "Oud and Spices edp"? How about the Manceras and the Montales? Moreover Guerlain's 0ud Essentiel is pretty nice too. Give those a try if you get the chance. Stay original🥂

Thanks for watching and commenting.. not the biggest fan of montale & mancera tbh... but acqua di parmas colonia oud is high on my wish list... it is just a pretty expensive fragrance and i have yet to find a deal that made me want to snatch up a bottle 👍

Oud for Greatness sucks - there's no other way to say it. I think Initio probably gave away over 50 bottles to KZbin reviewers and they dutifully did their job.

M7 makes me really curious as to just when Givaudan and all the other firms started to make synthetic “ouds”
@RamseytheRam2 жыл бұрын
Yes thats a great point... would love a real history lesson on the topic...pierre bourdon stated they had the calone ingridient which was the note that gives that marine touch that many 90s fragrances had for 20 to 25 years but no one ever used for decades 😂

I love c, and 1849. They are under rated. Oud is so different perfume to perfume I have areej russian oud and roja amber aoud - they couldn’t be more different. I have attars and they are different again often not skanky at all. If u get one pure oud get ensar tigerwood 1990 it has a thick petrol / oil like smell off the cap, very complex, no skank and natural smelling. Natures Dior farinhieght or bulgari black. Think Daniel day Lewis when he’s covered in oil in there will be blood

Promise and Moon are magnificent. I bought fresh bottle of Moon about a year ago so it changed many of his maturation phases. Right now it starts as usual with that fruit/spice bomb but later on it's very strong on sultry leather/oud vibe I have both and it kinda depends on my state of mind which one i like more.

I love Clive's C for Men so much. I have two of their discovery sets that I got at a great price. One came from Clive's site themselves. They must have been getting rid of old stock or something. I only have 15mls of it, so I cherish it. I think the 100K sandalwood might come from Feel Oud. Russian Adam & Demitry worked together on a 100K sandlawood. I have it and it's devoid of many of the constructs that most use in making sandalwood oils. It's not like an Ensar's Santal Royal which uses 40-year-old red sandalwood, or Santal Sultan, which amps up the spice. 100K is in pure form. I think I might have Red Santal sample left from, I think that was the name, by Ensar. It was different. A little animalic. I have yet to own a Bortnikoff, but I will. His use of magnolia is wonderful. I appreciate your, if you can't afford that, then check out this.

Thanks for sharing Eddie... i agree with you about all those points Clive Christian C for men has grown on me more & more as I have had it for about 7 years now and the more I explore the fragrance universe the more I realize how much I love that fragrance! @@RamseytheRam Excellent all the same. After my time in the ME I was kind of overdosed with the scent of oud ( take a walk in any souk in the evening....and in the summer months) so I've not felt the need for Oud fragrances. Saying that I have been noticing Oud Infini and I own Oud Palao. Thanks for answering my query, I'm happy enough with Oud Palao as for the Roja Pour Homme 51 Heritage, I still feel uneasy if I get stares my way thinking 'is it too skanky'? Much appreciated, Cheers! ++ BTW, excellent TSU in the Tsuga, useless 'fact of the day' alert. Tsu (T..su) is part of the Japanese 'alphabet' for their use of words beginning in T. They use a syllable system Hiragana and Katana along with kanji (characters borrowed from the chinese ideograms) Ta, Chi, Tsu, Te, To. You can use it also to correct the oft mispronounced Tsunami, in the west we say sunami when as you've guessed it's Tsu na mi! And don't get me started on 'Fiona'! Once met an attractive young girl who tried to tell me her name was pronounced Fy (as in Fight) ona! I'd already had enough of a So Fy ya (Sophia),...Alarm bells....not going there!
