Salvation is not contingent upon the strength of our faith; there may be times when we struggle, feel weak in our faith or even condemned. What truly matters is that we have come to believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose from the dead. He is the only way to God, and this truth gives us a hope that can never be taken away. The Holy Spirit seals this hope in our hearts, assuring us of our salvation. It is not about maintaining a certain level of faith to enter heaven, but rather about the faithfulness of Christ, who shed His blood for us, died for us while we were still His enemies, and rose from the dead so that we could be reconciled to God- knowing Who He is and what He has done for us, hoping in His mercy and grace unto eternal life. (Titus 3:7) that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Romans 8:3) Who is he that condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. (1 John 3:20) For even if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things

@@ArcLightShock37 the second point is pretty misleading in confused as to why the creator of this channel just assumed faithfulness had to be a subjective standard especially when that's supposed to be biblically moral which if it is biblically moral then that would make it objective. The standard of faithfulness would be to continue in the faith and if you're gonna object to something so simple like that before you come with an argument against it I can almost confirm you agree with it Just ask yourself if someone doesn't continue believing are they saved? Or were they lead astray The Bible says there remains no more sacrifice for those who persist in sin persistence in sin leads to the unforgivable sin and the sin is unforgivable because you won't accept forgiveness So overall salvation is free the grace of that salvation is free but you aren't really accepting it if you're literally persisting in sin

While salvation is by the grace of God for those what have faith, and while sanctification is a process, I find it disingenuous to dismiss what Sam was saying here with a blanket statement… Yes, salvation in Jesus Christ is undeserved , and faith is one grasping that salvation wholeheartedly, but once that salvation is grasped, and the new life received, what is one to do with that life, if not be faithful/obedient. Even the Great Commission guides us to teach those who are baptized to observe all that Christ commanded to be done. And even our faith in Jesus Christ is faithfulness, for our faith is commanded by God! 1 John 3:23 As an example, and one I like running back to for its simplicity: when God counted Abraham’s belief in Him for an offspring as righteousness, it only follows that the manifestation of that faith, thus the faithfulness, was getting intimate with his wife Sarah once again, despite the age problem, and Sarah’s assumed barrenness. Faithfulness follows faith, yes, but it is never far behind. Another example is Zacchaeus, the tax collector, who bore fruit meet with repentance the moment Christ said He would eat with him in his house, by restoring what he unjustly took. That being said, what truly matters to God is the heart of man, and his inclinations. Though one may say he believes, if his actions do not match his professed belief, then he does not believe. Yet one who truly believes, will invariably be led by his belief. We shall know them by their fruit. It’s important to remember that we are saved unto good works that were prepared for us to walk into. Thus we must walk in them, else our faith is dead, never having existed in the first place. Thus our faithfulness is a confirmation of our faith. Faith will invariably incite corresponding action/faithfulness from the believer. And that is where the fight of faith comes in: preserving that faith, when your flesh is at war with your willing spirit. My issue with the “by faith alone” statement is that it’s incomplete, and is often used by the unrepentant to falsely profess a repentance that is not evident. We are saved by the Grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, unto a life of obedience

So ETERNAL LIFE God's gift isn't ETERNAL LIFE unless we remain faithful earning the gift of eternal life but becomes temporal life if we don't remain faithful. Lot is described as righteous man in scripture. 2 Peter 2:7,8 Lot lived a WICKED LIFE and Lot was a true believer. According to Calvinism Lot's life would indicate someone who didn't preserve to the end and not a true believer. So much for Lot remaining faithful . Lot is only one example of true believers not remaining faithful and preserving to the end there are many others like King Saul who ends up committing suicide among many other sins mentioned in scripture. There is no gospel in Calvinism.. All 5 points of the TULIP are false as defined by Calvinist Thank you so much Onorato for your excellent response to this issue.

According to Sam's teaching, if faith is obedience, then everytime someone sins, that means they are not obeying and therefore they are not a believer, therefore every sin that someone commits means that he is no longer in a state of grace and peace with God. Also, if a present participle means that something is automatically imcompleted and continuous ongoing task, then according to their grammatical claims, that also means that the act of belief has not yet been complete, so this person is in the state of coming to believe a fact but has not yet believed since the verb is an imperfect present tense. Also, anyone who has studied ancient Greek, or any language that uses present particples often like Russian, knows for a fact that the favored way to translate present participles is as a present perfect (I believe) as opposed to present imperfect (I am believing/ I am coming to believe). Anyone who picks up an ancient Greek textbook will see this as well. Time would fail to show this as a clear fact of the greek language just from the new testament alone, it is literally on every other page. But here is one clear example: Revelation 21:24 KJV And the nations of *them which are saved* shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. "Them which are saved" is a present participle, yet this verse is speaking of those redeemed and iving in the new heaven and new earth in the eternal state, but according to Sam's grammatical assertions, this verse must be translated as "and the nations of those that are coming unto a state of being saved shall walk in the light of it". Since it is a present indictive participle.

@shamounian‬ is Catholic, and Catholics traditionally hold that both faith and works play a role in salvation. However, it’s essential to clarify that salvation is not merely a one-time event; it’s a transformative process. This ongoing transformation is known as sanctification, where we gradually grow into the likeness of Christ. While God’s grace is a free and undeserved gift, it requires a faithful response and genuine transformation in how we live. Numerous scriptures help us understand this relationship between grace, faith, and works. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV): “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Paul emphasizes that salvation is purely a gift from God. It is not something we can earn through good deeds. However, this gift doesn’t leave us unchanged-it invites transformation. Philippians 2:12-13 (NIV): “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” Though we are saved by grace, this verse illustrates that we are called to actively participate in the process of becoming who God created us to be. James 2:17 (NIV): “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” True faith naturally leads to action. While works do not save us, they are the fruit of genuine faith. This means that living out our faith-through obedience and good works-reflects our transformation in Christ. Titus 2:11-12 (NIV): “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” God’s grace is not just a gift but also a guide. It teaches us how to live a life that mirrors Christ, shaping us into the people we are meant to be. Romans 6:1-2 (NIV): “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” This passage makes it clear that grace does not give us permission to keep sinning. On the contrary, it’s a call to a new way of living, where we leave our sinful ways behind and embrace a life of holiness. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV): “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Being saved means becoming a new creation in Christ. This transformation is ongoing, as we shed our old habits and grow into the person God intended us to be. Romans 12:1-2 (NIV): “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This renewal and transformation is a lifelong process that comes through the grace of God as we offer our lives in faithful obedience to Him. Grace doesn’t lead us to complacency; rather, it calls us to faithful action. While we cannot earn salvation, we are still called to respond to God’s grace with lives of faithfulness and obedience. True faith, as James says, cannot be separated from action. At the same time, it’s essential to remember that our works are the result of God’s grace, not the cause of our salvation. We live in a continuous process of being shaped and molded into Christ’s image, awaiting the day we are fully transformed when we meet Him (Philippians 1:6).

@@JeremyBardot You never asked me what my interpretation of 1 John 3:15 is ? My interpretation does not contradict John 3:16. Take a look.....I John 3:15 [15] Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. Keep in mind that 1 John is written to believers and one of the themes is abiding . In verse 15, when a believer is experiencing hatred toward a brother in Christ he is hardly acting any different than cain. He certainly is not acting out of his regenerated born-again inner man because that part of a believer cannot sin because His seed remains in him. Notice however what the passage does not say. It does not say " no murderer has eternal life. " It says..... " no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." Remember also that " abiding " is always used as a reciprocal relationship even as Jesus said to His disciples " Abide in Me, and I in you" . Since Christ Himself is eternal life , ( 1 Jn 5:20 ), to say that someone does not have Eternal Life abiding in him is equivalent to saying that he does not have Christ abiding in him. The believer can experience the experience of that of a murderer or he can experience the experience of eternal life, the very life of God. I hope this adequately explains my position . I know this is hard to do in this manner of communication. Blessings

Imagine claiming something different about love of your life you pursue: It goes directly contrary to whole of the Law and Prophets. God made known ways to repent, ways to have your sins remitted in this season... but you must first believe that your offence is grave, and that you may in any time lose it all. You cannot regret it even if you claim that your sins do not matter, you cannot even begin to repent. Its all justified forensically... you are not seen by God, but God sees Christ in your place. @@GaM3RaDaR Correct, Holy Baptism brings us initial grace of justification, and sanctification (being born again), but it doesn't mean that we due to our actions may never die (again) in our sins. Faith alone is demonic doctrine, because it separates initial grace of justification from any logical obligation it brings: love of Christ. If you abide in Christ's love: You will keep his commandments. To keep commandments is to do a good work. John 15: 9-10 Abide in my love. * If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love* ; as I also have kept my Father's commandments, and do abide in his love. Those who do not keep Christ's commandments are going into perdition: John 15: 6 If any one abide not in me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up, and cast him into *the fire, and he burneth * . Lack of good works (fruits of the charity) is a symptom that help us to diagnose spiritual death, due to death of faith. Check James 2: 24-26

I think i know why Christ said that you need to be like a child to see the kingdom of heaven. Salvation is so simple, and yet people distort it with their own worldview. Its by the Grace of God, Through Faith. Its as simple as that. A child wouldnt look at this message and think that it would have hidden meanings or messages. A child sees no double meaning. A child sees nothing but what is presented. When you promise something to a kid, they would just get happy and wait for you to keep your promise. They wont be thinking about if you are lying or not, if what you said had a double meaning or not. They would hear your promise and be happy and eager. Its the same with the message of salvation. God has no double meaning on his word, so if he says it, he means it. We are saved by the Grace of God, that wants us to have faith in Jesus Christ that was the only perfect one. Our works wont do a thing.

Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see. This is why the ancients were commended. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. - Hebrews 11:1-3 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. - Colossians 1:15-17 “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. It is just as the Scripture says: “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11 the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified! Luke 18:13-14 Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” Lamentations 3:22-24 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life. Ephesians 2:8-10 Some may boast of their works, I will ask for grace & mercy. God bless you.

@@Pierre_888 Great questions. 1.) Judas...... not sure that i can find any scriptural support that Judas ever believed in Jesus for eternal life. The gospel of John is very clear that whoever believes in Jesus will never perish, never hunger, never thirst, never come into judgment, never ever be cast out, never die spiritually, never be plucked out of Jesus's hand and never be plucked out of the Father's hand. So if a person believes in Jesus and then aposticizes and goes to the lake of fire, then that means that Jesus didnt tell the truth, didnt keep His promises. So no, apostacy has many serious consequences but loss of everlasting life is NOT one of them. 3.) Free will...... to believe , to be persuaded that something is true is NOT an act of the will. A person does not will to believe something. A person sees or hears something and they are either convinced that it is true or not. A person either believes something or not. There is no such thing as partial belief. If there is any doubt at all then that is NOT belief. Jesus said " he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has everlasting life and will not come into judgment but has crossed from death to life. Jn 5:24. Thats why i have no need to engage in the argument about free will regarding salvation. Believing in Jesus is the issue not mans free will to decide. We do not decide to believe something. 4.) I believe the confusion lies in many people conflating justification and sanctification, which are two distinct aspects of the Christian walk. Paul explains these concepts in great detail throughout the New Testament, and I’m surprised more people don’t recognize this clear distinction. Justification is by faith alone-faith is what justifies us. However, the enduring faith we display throughout our lives, evidenced by our obedience and works, is the process of sanctification. This is an ongoing battle that serves as proof of our faith but is not what justifies us. The key point is that if you’re not actively engaged in the process of sanctification after being justified by faith, as Paul continually emphasizes (Romans 7:15-25, Galatians 5:17, Philippians 3:12-14, 1 Corinthians 9:27), it’s a sign that you may not have had genuine faith to begin with. Mental assent and true faith are not the same thing. Too often, people mistake faith for mere mental agreement, then wonder why their lives haven’t changed. To clarify: Yes, faith alone (sola fide) is what justifies or saves you, but sanctification is the evidence that your faith is real. As James 2:26 states, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." It’s a simple, distinct concept-not as convoluted as it’s often made out to be.

False teachers redefine faith as obedience and belief as total commitment. They misconstrue enduring to the end with salvation, when it is really about people's physical saving during the tribulation period nothing to do with salvation at all. Let's help them with the Biblical definition of faith. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen." Translation: faith is being convinced that something is true.

Why would he need to continue on in faith if the momentary belief was enough to cover him? or Matthew 24:24 where our Lord Jesus Christ says that false christs will arise to deceive even the elect? If their faith ceases so does their salvation - I don't know how anything else can be exegeted from that passage? And lastly if Adam had continued in loyalty the world would never have fallen to sin in the first place. Falling to sin does not revoke salvation but losing belief clearly does...

Though I have few issues with Sam's methods he is absolutely correct on this one. Jesus lives in us believers through the Holy Spirit. And the purpose of that dwelling is for the believers to remain holy after the cleansing in the blood of Christ. I don't think that Sam was bragging about his works, He also believes that he is saved by the Grace of God. But that Grace is also conditional on faith. So by Grace through faith is relationship. God is Love, and Love is a relationship. We would be robots if it were otherwise. To become a believer and remain one needs response from our side. And that is also work. Also being with God is a continuous activity. Starts and ends with a prayer and in the meantime is a life filled with choices. Those choices can be good or bad, but if we remain in the Spirit chances are we will become ever improving in choosing the right path as much as possible. To become a Christian should be once in a lifetime choice, just like marriage. But if we stop working on improving our selves and our relationship, the divorce is unavoidable. The prominent protestant view on both faith and marriage is the reason for increase in divorces and apostasy.

John 6:47 NKJV Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. We see in this verse that belief is the ONLY requirement to attain everlasting life. Jesus didn’t say, he who believes in me AND has a changed life, or continues to believe in me, or makes me Lord of your life etc…. No. He said I will give you everlasting life if you believe in me. Sam Shamoun is just so solid and all from his kitchen. Faith without works is dead. Do not let your faith be a dead faith. Have faith and do good works. We are saved. Continue in your salvation. Be a part of what you have been invited in. Believing but also doing good works in belief. Turn away from sin believe in Jesus and do good works so you will have a living faith. Here is the simple equation - Before Jesus there was no life after death. Gentiles had no chance of Heaven. Jews if they broke the law had no chance because if they broke one law they would be condemned by the law. Jesus Came and purchased for us eternal life. -Now there is a way through him. Believing- If you believe in him you have eternal life. If you don't believe in him you do not. Believing in him in word alone- Many will say Lord Lord and not enter the kingdom of Heaven. But the one who does my Fathers will would enter. Driving out demons in his name and performing miracles. We know this can happen because the power of Jesus' name. Matthew 7:21-23 Believing in him in word and practice- Then he says “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” So Faith and works stand. we must put into practice what Jesus Preached. Believing in him yes but building a strong foundation on this belief with our practices.

I think you’re arguing past each other here. This is about the concept of reference frames. You both agree that it’s an instantaneous and non meritorious moment of belief for which eternal life is granted. However, that’s the reference frame of God in the sense that he, in his infinite wisdom and omniscience, knows that you are saved. In other words, God doesn’t need the faithfulness that’s to come to know that you’re saved in that moment. However, when speaking in to the reference frame of humanity that isn’t all knowing. The bible states that faithfulness is required, only in the sense of knowing one is saved. More appropriately, the contrapositive is true that, without faithfulness the lack of salvation, or dead faith, can be concluded. It’s not that you’re saved through faithfulness, but it’s the inevitable consequence if you were saved. And it’s not about the degree of faithfulness as you mentioned, we don’t understand that deeply.

Three scriptural truths that you fail to take into account when you present your perverted perception of God’s grace.

I think that in some ways you and Sam are talking complementarily about the same thing. We are indeed saved by grace through faith alone, but that faith must be genuine and it must produce good works which is what Sam describes as faithfulness. Sam is not saying that if we slip and sin or that if we are going through a season of doubt we lose our salvation because that is no posible once you have had a true transformation as you mentioned in the video. Lets not sow division among brothers in Christ and do not judge so quickly my friend, learn one from another for the strenghthening of the church, God bless.

I tell people that to be eternally redeemed (Hebrews 9:12), believe you have eternal life by the grace of Jesus Christ, NOT by your own righteousness, which is of the law (John 3:16, 1 John 5:10-13, Acts 15:11, Romans 3:19-28, Romans 9:29-10:6, Philippians 3:9, John 5:24, Hebrews 10:10-14, 2 Timothy 4:18).

my guy, what churches do you think existed before the protestant heretics came in the 1500's?????? orthodoxy and catholics existed before and in the early centuries. in fact they were the first Christians. wake up to the fact that Protestantism was created by men, and Orthodoxy and Catholicism was created by Christ. come to the ancient churches of Christ and not whatever bland churches protestantism has produced.

If your interpretation was correct, the Bible would be only one page. All shepherds and sheep throughout history would have been do-nothings. Up into the 4th century, early Christians were under enormous pressure to convert (back) to paganism or face threats, persecution, and/or death by the Romans. A lot of the former thought they could be pagans and still be saved by following the Law of Moses or doing good works. They were told: No, they must maintain faith only in God. Fast forward to more modern times. So many self-entitled Americans have been convinced they're special and God owes them a get out of hell free card no matter what. To come up with their distorted ideologies requires cherry picking verses. Suggest buying a real Bible and read all the passages you don't like such as Matthew 7:21.

Matthew 7:21 is speaking of FALSE PROPHETS, who call Jesus Lord (Lordship Salvation), and do many WORKS, but Jesus told them he NEVER knew them because they had not done the will of the father. Which is TO BELIEVE ON THE SON (Jesus Christ.) That passage isn’t talking about people just “mentally ascending” who didn’t do enough works. It’s actually the exact opposite.

The will of the Father is the same as what Jesus taught and convince His disciples to do. Come out of the world and feed, clothe, give water, gospel, heal, deliver. We are made for good works. So, if most christians twist it and accuses it has works for salvation; then that’s why only few are chosen!

Ephesians 1:12-14 (KJV) 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Apparently he recently converted to Catholicism, not sure if this is still true, but either way it shows how truly lost he is. Sometimes believers say that maybe that or that man is saved but just confused, fallen into false doctrine. It's possible, God knows, but it may also be that they're not saved. There is one example of a Baptist (ex-)pastor who taught salvation by faith in Christ alone, not of works, no adding of turning from sins, but he taught that you can lose it. And what became of him? First he went on to teach annihilationism, which is the doctrine that the lake of fire is not eternal but only temporary. Then he went on to teach preterism, which is the doctrine that the millenium reign has already happened on earth. And then he went on to claim he himself is Jesus Christ. And along with that he got into occultism. That showed me that it may mean nothing if someone professes the gospel and professes faith in Christ, if they believe you can lose it or not have salvation based on lifestyle/works. Because they reject that eternal life is a gift and a promise, they turn it into a debt or wage. Many will say in that day "Lord, Lord...." all having a profession of faith and surely they would claim faith in Christ and his finished work, but yet they never had faith in Him.
