The plant might know something you don't ;) Perhaps dropping to the ground protects the seeds. Perhaps the pests are there because it (or they) are not native? Just sayin. Plants know what they're doing. It is us the humans who cannot comprehend their strategy! After all, they sure have been around a lot longer than us pesky buggers :D

@@NeemorsWorld how does the plant propagate?. Honestly like the smartest option would be for nothing to evolve past single celled organisms. :) Complexity brings issues. Especially when we are dragging plants to places they don't belong. Evolution is messy
