Hey Alex. Don’t tap into power near the mirror. It’s part of your ADAS system (anti collision stuff) which runs to the ECU and so on. Just run a jump wire from the fuse box that has power on accessories. Then run the wiring up the a pillar and tuck into the front of the roof lining. Job done. Great episode guys.

Roast Take out of packaging pour boiling water over and pat dry. Leave in fridge uncovered over night. Remove from fridge and let rest for an hour or so and salt only (no oil or anything just salt) just before it goes in Weber. Have Weber up flat out and cook for 1/2-3/4hr flat out to get crackle then reduce temp to 160 Degrees Celsius and cook to desired internal temp. That first 1/2-3/4hr is when you get the crackle. Has worked for me for years 🤙🏻 Cheers Jason

Yes the bird is a channel billed cuckoo or storm bird, migrate from New Guinea and Indonesia to lay their eggs in other birds nests and have them birds raise their chicks for them. We call them storm birds here in QLD as they’re normally seen at the start of the wet season.

For your pork roast, all that I do, and it works a treat every time is, the day before, I pat it dry, scour it more than what the butcher does, coat it in vegetable oil and salt, rub it in. Then, put it in the fridge overnight. Heat the BBQ to 250+, whack it in and leave it. A 2kilo pork takes around 1.5 hours.

Pork crackle biggest hint is brush vinegar over the skin, cook slow for 30mins, then take out and put oil and salt over it, crank up the heat till cooked. The vinegar dries out the skin for perfect crackle!!!! good for a weber, oven or airfryer.....Try this next time....

Hi Erin and Alex. Just replying to your request for comments on your roast pork. You should not wrap the pork once cooked, that will make your crackle go soggy because of the steam inside the wrap

You did the roast perfectly. Webers struggle to create crackle cause you need fan forced hot air or direct heat from the fire. We’ve always gotten excellent crackle doing the roast on the spit over coals. I reckon you’ve got the right recipe. Cook in Weber first then crackle in the air fryer. It’s what I’d do if we didn’t have the rotisserie. You could always take the skin off and wrap the meat to rest it while you’re doing the crackle in the air fryer?
@nowornever_aus
@nowornever_aus 6 күн бұрын
Thanks! Yes that’s how we did end it just resting the meat and crackle in the air fryer. I do like the idea of having a go at a rotisserie though!

Hey guys. I asked an auto lecko if I could run my Blackview from that power source and he said no because the voltage isn't high enough to that port. If you changed it over maybe but it's probably easier to just run the hardwire under the edge of the rooflining into the fuse box. I have mine run that way but still have it plugged into the cig socket in the dash

I reckon the bird's a juvenile Channel Billed Cuckoo. If you ever see a bird a bird flying that looks a bit like a flying walking stick, that'd be an adult Channel Billed Cuckoo. The juveniles are raised by other birds as the mother lays its egg in another poor bird's nest who then sits on the egg and raises it - the host parents are usually much smaller birds and get worn out meeting the feeding requirements.

Just a word on the diesel heater tank, stick a stubbie holder (one with a closed bottom) over the cap, cause they are not UV stable and will over time crack. How you guys go with filling up your composite gas bottles, been reading and watching videos where people are finding that fuel stations and other places will not fill the composite type gas bottles? As for the bird, i believe thats a (male) channel billed cuckoo. What salt does is draws out the moister within the skin so best to do that night before and use a Stainless Meat Pork Belly Skin Pricker to perferate the skin more than what the butcher does, this allows the oil from the pork to be drawn out through the holes to crisp the skin.
