Looks like there was an attempt to prevent this from replicating the Maxx "C" challenge. Partly due to the shuffle back effect, but also by only letting you draw when your opponent special summons from main and extra decks. Don't know how well that'll hold up.

This will be interesting to see how Konami TCG will navigate this being that Maxx C is banned. Also OCG is gonna have both Mulchummy and Maxx C in the same deck. It's either gonna be straight ignorance. Or one of these new cards will crash out.

Only being good going second is probably fine for the tcg, its also not quite as limiting as maxx c is in terms of the options you have to combat it. Kash cards get even better for going first, tenpai probably goes from an annoying deck to a problematic one with these 2 legal, crossout becomes more popular but not quite good enough to main deck. Kash engine gets better too I guess

Tenpai is probably the only deck that will play both main. Most people I think will go ahead and side it in for going second. Maybe even swapping out in siding with ash blossom for it ironically lol

This card being able to hit summons from both the main and extra deck is really powerful, I imagine they'll probably make one to hit summons from grave at some point. Most meta decks like to summon from the extra deck and the main deck, with the grave being a second hand to special from. Having one to hit grave summons, one to hit hand summons, and one to hit deck/ED summons but you can only choose 2 places to hit at a time is still powerful, but since you can only use 2 of these monsters a turn and have these going second, it might be better to draw into board breakers over handtraps. Fitting for a going second series of cards

As a wombo combo call of duty modern warfare player i think this is fine, if Nib gets banned and perfect if both Nib + Ash go. I think 3 of them are a massive overkill to exist, this will draw you into enough combo starters + other handtraps. Dont need Nib which kills rogue decks on its own already (best example MD with snake-eyes meta and their 15 handtraps) + Ash alongside other handtraps, which can end turns on the chokepoints - to exist with Fuwaross. Or you bring back Called By and Omega back to 3 with Ash/Nib/Mulcharmys around.

One thing that scares me about this card is that it's not a HOPT so even if u counter the first copy with ash they can use another one. Or with crossout or called by they chain the second copy to it that part scares me, but other than I'm fine having this card in the game though I guess i gotta wait for the reprint cause ik TCG will rarity bump this and we'll have an ash blossom situation all over again COPIUM

The card will definitely see play. Now I did say I wasn't a fan of these cards, but as a player that loves to go second, this is something I will play. Just wish we had a better means of board breakers. Also, I don't think you're off on the artwork, Cap. It does seem like this could be the same artist, but I feel like if it isn't the one that did Prankids, it would probably be the one that did Melffy and probably Floo, too.

It's really strong against mostly 90% of the decks right now. I'm currently playing Ritual Beast and just imagine how many cards my opponent would draw from this in one single turn. Like 7-8 cards just from the basic Ritual Beast combo. This is certainly as strong as Maxx C.

Konami wants cards like this to act as a catch-up mechanic going second, and TCG players specifically are going to have to accept that this is the trade-off they are making over a hard cap on summons. They are acknowledging that Maxx C is too good, but they are not going to go back on what Maxx C is supposed to do in theory. It's weaker, with restrictions on when it can activate, when you can draw, and a way to bring your hand size back down if you draw too much. I dont see the problem with making these more niche specific for matchups instead of one card to cover everything. These do what other cards like Nibiru and Spooky Dogwood want to do, but better. It's unfortunate in a way that these are happening now when more stores are dropping yugioh product and prize support is such that top level players continue to leave, mainly in Western regions, but I would rather they start taking bolder steps to redress the underlying issues with the game, even if it is just more high dollar staples they are pushing in its wake.

As it should. There’s no counterplay since you draw off summons from deck as well as extra and even bad decks like Salad or Sky Striker will allow your opponent to plus way much. And it can draw you into hand traps that then allow you to bypass the hand limit in the end phase. Going second cards shouldn’t just be functionally floodgate hand traps since this thing functionally forces you to pass turn on nothing unless you’re playing a bad deck like True Draco. Even against something like Lab it’s still at least a +1.

Konami should make a Hand trap that searches Any other hand trap, and make it a soft once per turn, and let it search itself, can only search a card with the Same name Once per turn. This would skyrocket hand trap consistency, and make playing one of hand traps actually good because technically you’re playing 4 and it gives you variety, and drawing it, means always drawing the best possible hand trap for the situation. This could make going second actually viable. It should search monsters that have a quick effect that activates in hand. This would be almost every hand trap, and then some other monsters too, whatever, maybe give it a level restriction for bystials, or don’t because you couldn’t search Nib. Imagine having 6 drolls, 6 ash, 6 veiler, twice as many of all the hand traps, if one desk loses to a single hand trap, a card like this would mean that deck always has a significant weakness of at least 4 card consistency, to 6 cards, meaning if it loses to already popular hand traps, it REALLY loses, 6 nibs instead of means the deck would be absolutely unplayable, anything that loses to droll would become unplayable, more decks that can play shifter. It might actually make going second viable again. I say this to say that blinding second THIS card in this video is good, but if there were 6 copies of it, then going second might actually be a good choice, so I just thought, hmm what if we had a card to search hand traps, now THAT would be epic.

Honestly I never got why Maxx C got banned in TCG while remaining legal at 3 in OCG/Master Duel, now you have to play it's watered down version if you wanna remain competitive, it's all really funny specially considering Maxx C was a TCG exclusive from way back in the 5D's days.

I would argue they wanted to sell links (Komoney after all) and needed to speed up the game for it, so first they limited Maxx C - which was sacky af then decided to ban it. Ultimately i dont think a card like this should exist alongside Nib + Ash. Now they split Maxx C in 3 cards to make it more fair, the thought of OCG/MD players having to deal with 12 Maxx C's while having 3 Ash, 1 Crossout, 2 Called by, 2 Omega sounds disgusting.

Guys, side deck ONLY cards, are NOT that good, relax. This only playable in 33% of games, or if you are a Blind second deck THEN this card could be good, and that’s okay, poor blind second hasn’t been good in literal decades. But for the standard of Yugioh now, it’s just not all that. You only play it on your game two or three depending on your die roll, and sure it’s really good against most decks, but easy to side vs when it’s telegraphed that’s the only game you’re playing it in. While every deck specials from Extra, no every deck needs to, therefore it’s not like this is an auto-win. It’s a strong card, but something that only sideable ever, will not ruin the meta, it may however make blind second decks actually decent now though, because if you play this, and the other one, that’s weaker, BUT you’re playing it 100% of the time it’s not THAT much weaker, most decks still special from hand to a degree and almost all normal. So these two cards together may make blind second much more feasible, while going first which is the meta, won’t drastically change from this.
