Remember everyone, the game is going into EARLY ACCESS. That means the game isn't finished yet, and will have bugs and some bad balancing/mechanics. Those of us who'll play should help the developers polish it before final release.

Also add, the only reason it went into EA as soon as it is going to, is because GAMERS (THE MOST OPPRESSED GROUP OF THEM ALL) asked for it to be released. And the studio listened. so for anyone complaining that the devs "scammed" us, they didnt plan to release it so soon.

This might seem like it came out of left field, but the setting lowkey reminds me of No Game No Life 0, which is a prequel to the series about humanity being the plaything of other races and their creator gods' war. In a similar fashion, they're scavengers trying to survive the war. I am a huge fan of such setting and vibe, so I am looking forward to see how the game turns out.

Forever Winter is an example to just let artist..be artist! Let them make their creative and unique fun world and vision they want to turn into reality. And the game dev simply just turns that vision into a real piece of media that can be consumed. Rather than canning everything the artist made and just make something entirely different that now no one likes. It really does show who really decides what makes a game great when you can see a game that is full corporate like concord and a game that’s full artist like forever winter and see who is really the one responsible for making good games and unique and interesting worlds.

This is one of the few games I'm looking forward to. I want to hope that the game will be good and that the developers are not lying when they say that they want to make it good. So far, I really like everything I see about this game. I highly recommend watching the early access announcement of this game (Declaration of War - The Forever Winter EA Announcement). One of the developers says very correct things in this announcement and I want to hope that he really believes in them and tries to follow the things he says. All I can hope for is that the developers aren't lying to sell the game. And I hope that the studio won't betray its ideals if the game becomes successful in the future. The game is about to enter early access and I think this will scare off at least some of the players because the community knows too well that games in early access may never be released. I know the game industry too well and what happens with some games in early access. One of the examples is Kerbal Space Program 2 (Lots of good promises and a great trailer but in the end the game is trash). Even though I'm looking forward to this game, I won't buy it until I know it's actually good. I might only buy a game in early access if I know I'll enjoy it even at that stage. All I want to say is: Buy only those games that you really like. Support developers whose games bring you fun. Support developers who make good games not only with kind words but also with money. But try to spend money not for the hope that the game will get better, but for what you already like in the game. Don't pre-order games. Even if you're really looking forward to a game, don't rush out and buy it. Learn about the game. Make sure you like what you've learned about the game, and only then support the developers. Even if the developers have a good reputation and you like their games, don't rush to buy their next game. Support the developers by buying their good games that you like, not for their previous merits. The game may not be polished, but still may be fun. Make sure you like what you see in the game, make sure you'll enjoy the gameplay even if it's in early access and not polished, and only then buy the game. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk lol

I don't know who said this phrase, but it sounds like this: "If you can inflict even a small amount of damage, you can win and kill." Now try to imagine how the players will try to kill everyone on the map where such events take place. I'm so excited at the thought of being able to solo a whole map in the style of the protagonist, Pro, and stuff like that

When I first saw this game, i immediately thought of the movie Animatrix and the idea that in the event of an extinction level event where if we united could fight back, we end up fighting amongst ourselves and causing us to die out faster.

Just watch their EA announcement trailer, for yourself - it's a warm fuzzy hug to a particular group of gamers. Not to be that guy but I just hope they keep to their vision and don't try so very hard to please the broader audience. And certainly not the "modern audience". Not just the Dustborns but the hero shooter twitch shooters etc. - this kinda looks like it's for those who main Scav in Tarkov or enjoyed the Wasteland series, STALKER pistol runners that maybe had a pacifist run or 5 in the isometric Fallouts - it's not aiming for "360 no scope guy" afai can see, so much as Solid Snake's homeless vet brother or the even the solo Eve player looking for some first/3rd person now I think about it. It's seemingly for the masochists, more than the shift+W chads. And my lord the art style. Just take my bloody money. Edit: So many spots being hit that few have even tried for and most almost avoid. The art influence is enough for me, even if it was a Death Stranding clone, I'd throw my money at it for that art style.

If no one else has mentioned it; the only reason this is being released to EA is because of fan request. They would not have put it on EA otherwise. Also, if you're on the fence for the 24th EA release, they said there will be a demo available sometime next month.

Certainly looks appealing to me and the vibe is immaculate, but at the end of the day it's a game and it'll also have to deliver as such. Cautiously optimistic here, so once the first early access reviews are out and there's no major technical issues or bugs that impact the experience I'll propably give it a shot.

This is pretty much Moscow 2066.its a soviet grimpunk which focuses on the human dread of idiologic warfare gone too far. The only difference so far is this is a game the other is a manga.

Has anyone ever played Ark combat evolved when it came for the first time to Early Access? it was a huge buggy mess, couldnt even move your character OFFLINE. Nothing worked, your HP was a mess, your looting, combat ,almost everything. Now? its a good decent game for what it is. How about Conan? Conan when it started in Early Access was almost as bad as Ark.

I dont know how much you played Disco Elysium but if you feel like watching DE content , there is a great total Summary by "Last minute essays" . Its probably the best on youtube as any other forgets something or doesnt dive deeper but beware its long. Its probably too long for your Channel but you yourself might just like watching it anyhow.

My top 3 favorite games are STALKER (SoC specifically), Kenshi and M&B. It still pains me that in 30 years only those 3 games fill this sort of "emerging narrative with proper gameplay" niche where you are not the main character, yet your actions have measurable impact in the world. What point is there to being the dragonborn leader of 70 opposite guilds if no one cares and nothing changes? Hopefully TFW gets to be on par with those games. There's too much safe-played AAA garbage out there.

Just a fair warning to anyone watching. Devs had confirmed in QnA that they will be implementing water death mechanic that will punish players for not logging into the game often enough. Players will be losing losing a significant part of your progress - base upgrades, access to merchants, personal inventory and money. Keep it in mind before deciding to buy the game.
