Very good coverage of the topic; I've been looking all afternoon so I could start step recording, no luck so far, this is the best I could find. I know everybody wants to know all about drum kits and synths but some of us never use those. Instead, we use orchestral sound libraries from Spitfire or Vienna Symphonic Library. Sometimes the information in videos like this does not carry over too well. Anyone writing getting started stuff for us Symphonists?

Ok, so I've imported a midi song from the web. I used Media Explorer to create six individual tracks. I can see the midi notes. BUT, I can't figure it out. I've spent hours on this. i have viewed videos, etc. etc. and Kenny does a great job. But, I have found no instructions on HOW to add virtual instruments to EXISTING MIDI tracks. any help from the community here or Kenny would be most helpful. Thank you.

In Cubase you can copy the individual midi-notes by holding down ctrl button and just drag & drop it, which makes it really fast to create drumbeats. Can you do that somehow in Reaper?
@MrDblStop3 жыл бұрын
The closest to that I've found is to highlight a group of notes by right click and drag to select, then ctrl and double tap to lift and drag out a copy of that group and place it wherever you want it. (I know this answer is 10 months on but someone might find it useful.) Or Reaper can automatically extend your entire track by repeatedly pasting it in if you grab the end of the item and drag it out. E.g. a 12 bar track can be dragged out to 36 bars to make two more verses, each the same as the first twelve bars. I'm writing this out in simple terms because that's the way I need to read things about Reaper!
