I don’t like thinking about how long it will take just to get a new Armada Sideways figure. Honestly I’d say we will end up getting an Armada Optimus Prime repaint before getting Jetfire or Overload or Demolisher or Cyclonus. Haven’t really even tried to make the minicons despite releasing core class figures or characters who aren’t really small characters.

It sucks but it's an effective marketing strategy Say you're mainly an Armada fan, what happens when your cast is completed? You'll probably stop paying attention to new releases for the most part since you already have what you want. By dripping out figures in each series, Hasbro makes collectors watch the entire Transformers line for new releases, and then it's able to tempt those collectors into buying cool-looking figures they might not have otherwise picked up

I hate that Hasbro doesn't release groups of transformers that go together all together or over a couple of waves. They spread them out so far over time that the complete set has inconsistencies due to budgets and engineering changing over time. If you want a complete set of Studio series Dinobots mint in package it's not going to work out too well because the packaging style changed three times. Getting Target Masters where is sometimes they might include transforming guns for the robots and other times they do not even the recent insecticons weren't as uniform as they should have been.

In addition to spreading out groups of characters that should be released within the same year, I really hate that most of these toys seem to have a 1 to 2 months window period when you can buy them. I remember you used to be able to buy the same toy for a year to 2 years now it seems like once you see it in the store after a month or so you never see it again unless it's a peg warmer of course.

The Mini-Bots! It seems we can never get them all before Hasbro goes and changes the scale. Even now that the scaling is consistent, they've been dragging their heels getting them all out. Even some like Beachcomber, which was already released are impossible to obtain due to distribution incompetence. Where's Windcharger, Outback, Powerglide, Swerve, and Tailgate? I hear Seaspray is coming, but it's going to be another impossible to find store exclusive, and we all know how that goes- A scalpers dream! I don't think it's stupidity on Hasbro's part, but intentional so that we never completely finish our collections and have to keep investing in each series in the hopes that this will be the time they actually release the whole Mini-Bot lineup. Rather diabolical if you ask me.

I agree it can be irksome to wait but it's funny to act like it's an easily fixable situation. Just going to clarify how this works, using your Armada example - Armada is a cartoon from what, 2003? So you want them to, at retail, distribute an entire line of 22 year old designs? They have to put out, what, 12/16 deluxes a year, 6-8 voyagers, leaders, etc. There's only so many spots. It's broken up to balance out. If they put out a whole wave of something and it isn't someone's cup of tea, and wave 1 sits, the line suffers. Same like with Marvel Legends. You put a whole team out in a year, and then what do those fans do? Not buy? Walk away? No figure is a sure seller, except the big 7 or so. I don't mind waiting so long as the toys are worth the wait. Usually, 9/10 times, they are. It's business, it's gotta be run by one.

Exactly, you summed it up perfectly, and kingdom can't be used as an argument because even then like half of that line was g1, the cast is only nearly complete because it was such as small cast to begin with.

Honestly i feel they could separate universes into waves during the year. Like wave 1 is beast wars, wave 2 is G1 and wabe 3 is Unicron Trilogy. Just to get more than one update a year at least.

I don't think they will ever complete any one line. Its never ending due to the amount of characters. I love Legacy line due to all the different stuff. G1 is not really complete. And Hasbro has redone several characters like Optimus and Starscream few times. I own the original Unicron Trilogy, Prime, etc so I figure no matter I will just enjoy the toys from yesteryear. Still lovable toys.

Taking years to complete a cast makes no sense to me considering how much the engineering and detail has changed over the years the armada toys we get today will be obsolete in comparison to the new ones when the cast if finally complete

Never gonna happen least I think so, Hasbro needs G1 money and then leaves whatever else is left to hopefully give people something. Hasbro isn’t in a business position to give us everything eventually. I think they’re going down a slow death that is going to end one day as I don’t see any improvement in their business performance I should add in edit that I don’t want them to fall and I do want to see them succeed but the patterns the past few months have shown (and honestly, the immature fan base) have made my hopes low. I will be excited for announcements but the future I will be holding excitement until I can know they will deliver something. Leaks and rumors may be accurate but something can cause the product to be cancelled as compared to announcements where they have more obligation to follow through Least Takara is doing well and who knows if Hasbro goes down Takara can tap in and do their own thing using a regional distributor for their stuff like Bandai with their model kits. I’d love to get some Takara products like that Genesic GaoGaiGar they’re cooking up if I understand things correctly. Thinking about it. Transformer’s future might be in Japan’s hands one day and that may not be a bad thing since at the very least the transforming robots we love can still continue on though the whole nostalgia stuff may slow down even more if how Japan handled nostalgia is to be believed

Well on the positive side the third party TransArts. Has made modern version of Transmetal Optimus Primal and Cheetor. They even corrected the flaw the original Transmetal cheetor had. They even made a Quickstrike as well. The down side is that it's third party which means it's gonna cost more. And there is no reason why Hasbro couldn't give us those figures. Yet fans will make excuses for them. Even though Hasbro has none.
